Good pure gas and heat works wonders. Truck sat for a year during 2024 came back winter of 2025 and started right up. This year I also put a battery maintainer on it seeing how the battery is now 5 years old. Hopefully in Sept it will fire right up. Then it will be time for a long road trip in the US maybe go up into the PNW this year.

Using the maintainer it should start right up. I use mine all the time seeing as I don't drive much now and it really helps keep the battery fresh. You'll get the "deep sleep" mode warning after 14 days on your FordPass app but that just disables the remote start features from the app.

I'm jealous you're there in the Philippines. I've always wanted to go there and it's still on our bucket list along with Thailand. We had another member here Richard @Synfulz who lives there (originally from the US) but hasn't been around in a while. He use to post some really beautiful pictures of the area. Enjoy your time there winter here is brutal this year but it sounds like you like the cold. lol

When I got my truck I ran several tanks of everything and logged the mpg.
Basically I averaged 1.5 mpg better with 89 over 87, so it doesn't cost any more in the end to run 89.
MPG with 93 was no different than 89.
So I normally run 89 unless I find E15 88. I drive a lot and burn a tank of gas every 4-5 days.
I don't see that different octane matters in cold weather, in fact the owner's manual specifically says to use 91 in extremely hot weather.

Have not seen any posts from him in over a year or so. I think he was driving a Ranger over here, and had a beautiful Germany Shepard picture for his profile picture. That is one thing that makes it hard everyday I see a lot of Rangers and a Raptor or two very popular trucks here.
This time here we are going to do a lot more traveling first year here was just used to get settled in. Last time was a year here, but that was long for me 6 to 8 months is good. It is a beautiful country, but coming from the western world I am a little spoiled. Weather is ok now (Dec to April) then Summer (May to Aug) is too hot and humid like Florida or Texas on steroids. Then you get massive storms for 3 or 4 months.

I see the same mileage with 87 and 91. Biggest hit is between summer and winter blends required around here.

Once I realized the Ranger likes Premium Fuel, I simply stuck with it regardless the time of year. The same is true for my Frontier. Why let the weather change it when all it's doing is changing temperature?

I hear ya on the winter blend. I use Fuelly and can tell by the drop in mpg's when the first tank goes down and when the summer blend kicks back in.

Only 91 octane for me since new. If I could get 93, I would. Also, 98% of my gas is purchased at Costco for the Top Tier designation. When I am on a road trip and have to go to other than Costco, I look for Top Tier stations. Keeps the need for additives to a minimum.

The only dynamometer I have is “seat o’ the pants” but at five years old this month and just short of 150,000 miles, I swear it runs better now on this 93 than it did when I drove it off the lot new with 7 miles on it. Or it could be just me.

Keep in mind that running the fuel cleaner through most likely helped clean a bit to regain lost power. This is certainly true when fuel cleaner hasn't been used in a long time.

here in NY we can get 92 Non-Eth that is what I normally run, in the last month or two I have stepped down to 89 and MPG has suffered a lot! I am down to getting 15.9MPG now, but that could be the winter mix
every few months I put a bottle of something in it just for grins, I am now closing in on 60k miles, so soon I will do plugs, and it hasn't had an oil change since 15k but its Amsoil LOL

I average about 22.6 mpg on 87 in the summer and 20.5 on 87 in the winter 2wd. Drops to about 16 in 4wd in the winter.

That's a good average especially using 87. My lifetime average is 22.4 using 91 and I do a lot of short, stop & go trips.
