Yikes, so far we've had a mild winter but I know that cold is coming.

Here in Va it's been colder than normal since November. We had two snow events in December which is unusual. I have a stack of aging firewood that I thought sure would get me through the winter before I added newer wood. Now I am not so sure.

As of Dec. 28, the amount of precipitation in Edmonton in December was 416 per cent above its 30-year average, making it the city’s sixth wettest December since such data has been recorded. And since then we have had more snow falling, oh and freezing rain, can't forget the freezing rain! With still 3-4 months of snow to go, we may actually have to get a dump truck come by so we can get rid of the snow. We have more snow now than we had all last winter!

As for temps, this was a very cold December, with day time high's around -15c to -22c generally, but feeling like -35c in the wind. We are suppose to warm up to around -6c for our day time high's, but rest assured we will get our annual lows of -40c or colder and daytime high's of -30c!
