This is amazing performance from a production car which is mainly ICE 1064 HP gas & 186 HP electric. Running the 1/4 mile in 8.675 seconds at 159.57 mph with a 0-60 MPH in only 1.68 seconds which is about 1.5 G’s acceleration in 1st & 2nd gear on pump gas. Most of us grew up with muscle cars back in the 70’s & 80’s and thought they were gone for ever so it’s nice to see the Vette turning out a 21st century muscle car even though it’s unaffordable for most. At least back in the 70’s & 80’s they were more in line with wages and super easy to get parts and work on. I bought my first car, a ’70 Dodge Challenger with a 383 and a tunnel ram and dual quads for only $800. Granted it had to be towed to my house and I spent over a year working on it but something you could do as a 15 year old in high school with a part time job washing dishes back then.

The numbers are super impressive from a stock production car, running pump gas and with a warranty. There's not a lot of info out yet on the Boss 429 but from what I found (below) I'd buy the Vette. While the Boss 429 looks nice for the money you can't beat the hp/tq and 1/4 mile time the Vette puts out.

Nice Corvette. They forgot to say what the price tag is. One thing I really liked was that they used the words "fast" and "quick" properly. Most people have no idea that there is a difference. Cool car. Can I take it for a spin around the block?

I'll take the Mustang too, but they have to put the badges and decals on the right way. Oh, put a manual transmission in it. I like doing the shifting myself. Can I get one in a convertible model?

Edited: Ah, it can come with a manual!

You're asking for a lot there. lol Hopefully the Boss automatic comes with a spare transmission too. :lipssealed:

The Vette looks like it'll be $182K - $228K and that's before mark ups. I guess I'd have to go back to work if I want to buy one so I'll stick with my Tremor for now. 😁

Fast cars have never impressed me that much. It might go fast but can it pull a trailer or hop a curb without ripping the oil pan off? Lol I’d take a beat up old offroading rig over a sports car any day. That’s just me though.

I've always loved speed! Always had fast cars, snowmobiles and motorcycles growing up but I guess that's partially because I grew up in the 60's & 70's when muscle cars were everywhere. While I like my truck it was just a tool for me and a necessity when I was working but I'm finding I have much less use for one now that I'm retired. The Vette is just way too low for me and Annie would have a very hard time getting in and out of it but would be a fun toy.

I'm 99% sure that is AI generated slop. It seems to be an epidemic, especially with new vehicle releases.

Nothing wrong with having toys! I agree that your vehicle should suit your lifestyle. For me, I like vehicles that are utilitarian. If it doesn’t serve a purpose other than “just for fun” I probably won’t be interested, unless I have some fun money to throw around.
