What has been the most useful mod you've installed? Or most useful upgrade?

I have purchased a lot of items for my Ranger (step rails, bed mat, floor mats, intake scoop, console box, cubby liners, tie downs, and yes, the much loved and maligned tailgate damper), but those are accessories, not mods. Best mod was this utility platform I built for the rear of my SC. More usable space now for my cargo and the dogs love it.

Nothing particular, just a place to,shop and look at stuff. Shopping online is just not as much fun
Do you have the dimensions for the platform? That is awesome.

Question please, I just purchased a new 2024 Ranger FX4 and drove it from VA to WA ,2850 miles, I really liked the ride, what does the leveling kit do to improve the truck? I have drove F-150's for years. Thanks, Terry

Welcome and nice Ranger Terry! I too have driven F150's for a good 20+ years and am on my second Ranger. My '19 I leveled for the look and really didn't get any other benefit from it besides that. So about a year later I ended up going with new shocks (Eibach) all around and that made a huge improvement on ride and comfort over the Fx4 package. Save yourself the time and money and get a good set of shocks and skip the level unless you're just looking to improve the look.

Thank you, I really appreciate the advice.
There's a bunch of threads on this in the suspension area and most find a huge improvement over the stock suspension. The Fx4 package is just "ok" and it does get "bouncy" going over bumps. The Eibach that I had were adjustable so you can level it out to get the look you want and also get the benefits of a much smoother ride.

I skipped the leveling and just went up one size in a more aggressive tire. I happen to like the sport wheels but they needed something. So, I installed wheel spacers. Just 25mm to give the wheels a little poke out the wheel wells. Oh, and rear shocks replaced also. The ride improved, mpg about 22+
I have the tow package and figured when I tow, the truck will be level like it's designed.
I'd have to say Terry, those were my favorite mods.

Hi Steve,

You want a chick magenet. Try one of these....A Sonoran Desert tortoise....Chicks flock to this tortoise...I know as my wife would not let me take Tito for a walk by myself after she saw what an attraction he was.....

The tonneau cover and bed liner are good, but those are more mandatory imo.

The center console tray - cost like 5 bucks on Amazon when I first got my truck and it makes the center console so much more usable.

I don’t think I have any other functional mods to my truck besides that. The few other things I have are just because I like the way they look.

It ought to be standard equipment.

I installed the Truxedo Lo Pro on my new Ranger and love it, had the same one on my F-150.

2. Husky X-ACT Contour Floor Liners

We are avid hikers and use our Ranger SuperCab to access remote trails via widely varying conditions of dirt & rock roads & paths.

Bushwacker Armor protects the paint while Husky Liners contain mud & dirt from our hiking boots.

Both are well-designed, very sturdy, and basically indestructible. After 5 years of use, it's tough to find even a scuff.
