I recently attached a grille guard and as warned, the front sensors now do not operate normally. I found a relocate system (extention wires & brackets) for the inner two sensors. Question is... does anyone know FOR FACT if the outer two sensors MUST be relocated as well so that all four will operate as they should?

When in drive, all sensors (front and rear) show grey color with the exception of the front inner two showing red color.

The grille guard does not block any sensors.

Presently I turn off the parking assist button while driving but I would prefer to have full function of the sensors.

From your picture it doesn't look like the any of the parking sensors are blocked. Perhaps you loosened a connection during your stall?

You have upgraded to "hard sensor"...just stop when you hit something with the guards...

Not blocked - working normally, they are picking up the guard (proximity)
They pick up - 27 inches away and 12 inches above the ground. (if I recall the specs correctly)
I know the outer and inner sense overlaps (some) so if the outers are not seeing it then just relocate the inners - following this rule:

NOTE: Relocated sensors must be installed in the same position as originally fitted in the bumper
bar. Make sure that each sensor is installed in the correct corresponding position.

There is no calibration for the sensors, the only scan tool tests are to place objects in front of the sensors to verify they detect them.
Keep in mind that the inner sensors are the same part number, but the plastic retainers are side specific - this is what places them into the proper angle.

So, if you want to maintain (near) factory settings - keep them in the same position but move them forward enough to where they do not pick up the (lower & side) bars.
I do not think it's really important as far as placement as long as you can get them to function semi normally and not pick up false indications but still alert when you are in close proximity to a wall etc. So, it may be a bit of trial & error as i have not seen these relocation kits.

I have the same alert while backing up when the bike carrier is attached to hitch...just hit the alarm cancel button on the console...middle button in front of shifter, I think...

Thanks for the info. By same position, I presume same location/distance measured horizontally from one another, only further out in front from their original location?

Thanks. Right, none are blocked. No loose connection(s).

From the picture it doesn't look like they are blocked, but. The sensors actually have a cone shaped detection zone. That lower bar may be just in the cone of the inner front sensors.

@Msfitoy that button on the center console is not an alarm cancel button. It turns OFF the parking sensors completely, both front and rear if you have them.

Thanks for the info. Well, up until this Ranger with all the modern, fancy stuff on it, I drove many a vehicle without all the fluff. I can still do so if that is how it needs to be.

Incorrect- the sensors are Always ON if the key is on, the only thing the button does - it turns off the (feedback indication and warnings) from the sensors , which are always active.

Edit: You can test this by turning the switch (OFF) and note the sensors are still producing the (vibration-pulse) via video recording.

So the sensors are still active...pushing the button just turns off the alarm...

What is the difference between having the sensors active or off if they won't give you a warning when you get too close to something?
