I have RWD, XL. I swear that the part on ebay listed it as such, but the wire harness that I got looks to be for the 4WD Lariat. I can tell the difference because there is an extra connection in the center console area next to the dash where the 4WD "toggle wheel" is and the wires on the back side of the center console look to be for the lariate with 2 connections for the USBs instead of the one wire for the aux port.

Maybe the wire harness is for xlt.

Can I use this wire harness? will it throw codes if I don't hook up the 4WD switch or the rear console connection?

Also hoping that the rest of the connections are the same as my existing wire harness.

hell, can I buy the rear center console housing and a AC invertor and use that Lariat model with the AC outlet and 2 USBs?

Can you not return it and get the correct one?

It's eBay, so I'm not sure but I would probably have to pay shipping back.

I'm not opposed to returning it but if it would work, I already have it.

Open a case with eBay that the listing was incorrect. Seller has to pay shipping, I think.

Or, reach out to the seller and ask for return. Even if it was listed as no return, eBay will side with you.

Cross reference the part number and make sure it's not supposed to the same.

Many times a manufacturer will use the same harness across multiple trim levels if it's cheaper to just do a single harness instead of multiple specific ones.

This is a tough one to answer to be 100%, and it really depends on if the 2WD and the 4WD are wired the same for that harness (pinouts to the mating connectors that are feeding power etc.)
If all the pinouts match, then all you are going to have is extra connectors that will be nonfunctioning.
The modules are not programmed to see them, so it should not throw any codes.

Now for the rear outlets question - what do you currently have in the rear console as outlets?
as that MAY be possible but it depends on what you currently have as that will show what wiring is feeding the current harness.
