Ya know, I truly don't think there's going to be much difference in mpg while towing.....in fact, I may get a bit more with the Expi.....
Towing 7000 lb travel trailer, the Ranger is capable, but does suck gas...I get maybe 10 mpg.
Expi has bigger engine/100 more hp, so towing may be "easier" on the Expi, rated for 9300 lbs.
23 gallon tank possibly means less frequent fuel stops.
Either way, dosen't bother me as I am not one to worry about mpg.....
And, wife has already been in the Expi and loves the extra room on the passenger side. As much as I loved the Ranger, but it was her call, and honestly, at my age now the extra room really is more comfortable.
Plenty of space for the pup's and can fit a ton of "stuff" on back floor behind front seats that we used to cram in the Ranger......plenty of cargo room for camping stuff in back....

Curious as to what mileage you were getting with ranger

All joking aside, I'm pretty sure you'll love towing with it, and as we all know, happy wife happy life.

When towing average was around 10-12 mpg depending on terrain, speed, traffic, ect. Used premium when towing.
Solo around 17-19, midgrade gas....I am NOT an "egg under the pedal" driver....the only way I noticed the mpg was when I fueled up and reset the odometer.

Wait a minute, weren’t you one of those guys that was going to be buried in your ranger? :D

Life happens, needs change, moving on to another brand or type of vehicle is not a life altering experience. You have to find what works best.

Said it a million times, I hold no emotional attachment to a machine. I take care of it and move it while it still holds value.

I have zero need for it, and never once used the tremor features. But when ford dropped the package. I dropped ford to the bottom of the list for my next truck.

Looking real hard at a light used mid size , only if it is financially sensible

Raising my hand for “gets emotionally attached to vehicles.”

I agree with Tony that things change, needs change, and you have to move on. But damn , I felt guilty about selling Truck....I do get attached to my vehicles. As soon as we left Carvana lot, I had immediate "sellers remorse". But I just couldn't justify keeping it,,..,one or the other would have just sat for long periods..
So now instead of Truck, I have Tank and we'll just see where we go from here...

And I hope “Tank” kicks ass and takes names for you. Should definitely be one sweet road tripping / towing machine.

I'm glad that you're sticking around, Steve. Your towing facts and experience are appreciated here.

We bought our Rangers at about the same time, 5/5/2021 for me, I bought it o haul my motorcycle & ramps to other time zones, ride trails then head home in air conditioned, iTunes comfort. But my body was having a harder time cashing checks that my head was writing.

The Explorer in my signature is going away, but that's another topic.

Whoa - used as a command to a horse to make it stop or slow down, or to urge a person to stop or wait.

Woe - great sorrow or distress (often used hyperbolically)

Just saying ...
OK, OK........Woe is me, Woe is me.......:crackup::crackup:.,,,,,,,,(I was under a lot of stress when I posted)

Unfortunate to see you go, but I will say you will most likely enjoy that vehicle. During my time at the Ford dealer I used to work at and I got to drive a couple of those. I can't specify with the trailer, but I will say those have an excellent ride and have some nice power.
