That would be me. My boat has a GM 4.3 DI marine engine that gave me problems. Diagnosing EFI is futile w/o diagnostic software. I referenced the software I use to note its functionality and to see if something similar is available for the Ranger 2.3.
...I got some very good advice here. Not crap in my mind.

Okay, sorry bud.. I thought this forum was supposed to be about Ford Rangers. I guess I missed the connection. I am happy you got the advice you needed. Who am I to judge?

So I committed to Forscan. I just purchased the OBDLink cable.
Next I'll download Forscan, but I'd like some input on license requirements.
Does the free two month Extended License give full functionality?
What is the additional functionality with a one year license?

1 - It does
2 - Identical to 1, but no need to reregister for 12 months

There are more options available in the menus on the paid 1yr license. I prefer it myself.

I'm chasing a single issue now. As I learn the product I'll get a better idea if I need more. Forscan's web page doesn't tell me much about the functional workings. $20 won't break the bank for more functionality.

What are the extra options you get with the paid license that you don't get with the free 2 month one. I have not heard this before.
