2019 Ford Ranger is at the shop having the spark plugs replaced at 70k miles due to misfires caused by water intrusion. The water intrusion would have been avoided if TSB 21-2147 had been completed which added an engine cover. I'm surprised by this because my dealer usually executes all the bulletin to avoid problems in addition to recalls.

What other TSBs have simple corrective actions that I should execute or be aware of?

Thanks,
John

If your dealer is executing all bulletins, you’re a very lucky owner. TSBs aren’t normally performed without symptoms being present.

Here’s the official word from Ford.com…..

“Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) and Special Service Message (SSM) articles are intended for use by Ford and Lincoln professional technicians with the training, diagnostic capability, parts, software updates, tools and equipment to complete repairs properly and safely. These articles inform technicians of repairs that may be applicable to some vehicles with specific conditions or symptoms only so repairs may be performed quickly to minimize customer inconvenience. TSBs and SSMs are not Field Service Actions or Recalls and are not intended to be performed proactively if the condition or symptom described are not present. Do not assume that a condition or symptom described affects your vehicle. Warranty coverage that may apply to your vehicle is not modified, changed or enhanced by a TSB or SSM.“

I would scan the common issues you see here, there are a couple big ones. TSB's don't solve them or anything until they happen, they aren't preventative. But you can get good clues and suggestions from others that have gone through them

Yeah, what they said.
TSBs are reactive, not proactive. It's very unlikely that they will do a transmission TSB if you aren't experiencing any transmission problems.
