Has anyone else had their display updated and changed to something that looks cheap and generic ? and is it reversible ?

are you talking about the gauge cluster or dash/head unit?

So let me get this straight, you decided to change the Radio Display because you thought it should be more "Fancy" and now you hate it and want to go back?

I'm not a 100% certain on this,,, But I think he's saying that the display changed after an update and he doesn't like the way it looks. Which I can understand. I hated the look of the Sync3 system.

I'm not sure if you can Disregard an update in the settings menu or not. Messing with the software settings is over my head...

Yeah, the OP hasn't shown us any pictures of what he's talking about, that changed. There hasn't been a change to the SYNC software for a while now, at least not visually.

I'm wondering if he just recently bought the vehicle and the previous owner installed something he doesn't like.

He may just be wanting to go back to the factory head unit.

Hay....trying to go "minimalist" here. Just one step above sticking a wet finger out of window to estimate speed and direction !!!!

I have 2 - 2019 Rangers. 1st one is 4x4 Lariat w/FX4 and Black pkg and has original Sync3 look. My other one is a 2x2 Lariat Sport with the updated look. Subtle changes in look, but seems all the same. Our 2022 Expedition has the newer look as well. I do like the older look and digital button size...easier to use buttons when driving...slightly bigger for fumble fingers...??? My son drives the 4x4 and I the 2x2. I drove the 4x4 for 3 years before giving it to him. Recently bought the 'newer to me' Sport. I do like the older interface though. I just deal with it...??????

Sounds like he finally got the last update forced on him. Must of still had the original version from when he bought it. There was a big graphical update early on. Probably that awful blue that was the default. I haven't run that in years.

Too bad you need Forscan to change it. I've been running a Lincoln theme in grey and dark mode all the time. Nicer graphics on the touch screen. That blue default theme was way too bright at night.

I feel ya... The lack of customizability drove me nuts with the Ford Sync3 system. It felt like it was something that should be served to prisoners. That's why I bit the bullet and went with the Linkswell Gen6 unit. Now,,, I can customize the UI to anything I can dream up. The Android Auto actually works and stays connected. You'd be shocked at how big the sound improvement is. I can watch TV & movies from damn near ANY service. My truck has it's own sim card, cell number, and wifi hotspot. It looks great and it transforms the entire interior. If it broke tomorrow,,, I would buy another one just like it as a replacement.
