I have the Icon 2.5 stage 6 with the leafs set to option 2 (remove leaf #3 and insert the extra leaf that it comes with). Still a truck, but it has a greatly improved ride.

Should have been built this way

I don't know what Ford was thinking when they engineered the Ranger with a monoleaf ??? ?heads.

I'll know how the rake looks with this setup the week of July 4th. Waiting for the WDH that I got to get back in stock ?. Don't plan to go anywhere, but I hope to pick up my travel trailer (Grand Design Imagine Aim 16ml) ?

Prepare to be disappointed with the leafs. They are a downgrade compared to the OEM
Why is that? You are the only one saying that. Everyone else reports great improvements

I’m pretty confident that it was a budget thing… a cost cut to keep the build at a price point… engineer it just good enough to use… and for most people that’s fine… but we are all psycho’s who want awesome stuff ?….
Seriously though the mono leaf is trash..
But it worked (barely).

Because it is weaker than the OEM Leaf Springs. Hell it is weaker than other Leaf Springs.

Just to give you an idea of how weak it is, I can take the Basic Leafs from Old Man EMU and put 780-800 lbs in the bed and the rear will be at Factory Height. Even with all the leafs installed on the Icon, it will be lower than Factory with the same load.

Put the Icon in single leaf mode and compare the load handling to the OEM. The OEM will handle the load better.

It's not hard to figure this out.

More or less you are correct. In general the OEM leafs to work, but I prefer the Aftermarket Multi Leafs from Old Man EMU and Dobinsons. Though they can still fail, I find them to be nicer in quality.

I see what you’re saying.. based on the constant loads specified by icon.
I see how your math is mathing.
And yes everything will eventually break that’s for sure.. but you might get a bit more life out of a better quality component. That i can definitely agree with

Understanding leaf suspension can be difficult. It is not just the load capacity, it is the pliability as well. 800lbs causing a slight sag is better than it not moving at all.

Do any of these different springs and combinations that you can add or remove DROP the rear by 2 inches or so ? That would be the sweet spot for me to order some... no tow , almost never any load... hate the ride, hate the rake...

what do you think of the Maverick?… I hear rumor there will be a Maverick Raptor ?.
But then it won’t be a FFR ?…

unfortunately I have no information that will be helpful for the rear drop.

Actually they would, if you combine it with an axle flip.

Exactly this. Year round the only load in my bed is camping or sports equipment annd mountain bike and occasionally the low tongue load of a small camper. Maybe once every year or two I load the bed up with Home Depot materials. I’m looking for a better ride and increased off road travel over stock that’s limited by the stock leafs in back and the stock UCAs in front.
