Upgraded from mono leafs with Fox 2.0 to OME 1.7 multi leafs.... OMFG

Even with the Fox rear shocks, I used to cringe anytime I saw a bump in the road cause I knew it was going to knock my teeth out.

Tossed on the ARB OME springs yesterday and it's a completely different truck. Actually rides smooth now, comfortable even! Feels like I bought a new truck.

Fox 2.0 coil overs so the front is raised/leveled. The OME are 1.7in lift so the rear is back higher again. That’s fine cause I tow a lot. Once I get my trailer connected and fully loaded I’ll level the front out (adjust the coil overs).

I'm following your posts as thinking of doing similar......please keep us informed, especially about what you tow and how the new springs effect the truck's towing ability.

Keep in mind that I had the same exact leafs with the Nitrocharger Suspension. Though it was a bit stiff due to the shocks and struts being a bit too soft and the Dampening, but overall it towed just fine when needed.

Here is the Ranger towing the old 280ZX on a U-HAUL Auto Carrier weighing in around 5,500 lbs. The leafs technically raised the rear by 1.6 inches. With the load and no WDH it brought it to a level height(down about 2 inches) since I lifted 2.4 inches in the front with that suspension. At the time I also had 32's on the truck.

Unless the trailer is silly heavy and you are not using a WDH then you should be fine. In my response above you can see the results when I had to tow my 280ZX. With the trailer it was about 5,500 lbs.

I'm going to assume that was before switching leafs and just having the Fox Shocks and Struts? If so that explains enough. With what you just did I will say that you will be fine. Don't bother adjusting the Struts and all will be good. You may show a little more rake even with the trailer on. This will help with MPG to an extent(with the trailer it's still a challenge).

280zx is such a fun little car.. is that yours or just transporting?

If you think 1.6 inches is extreme, then perhaps you should look at Rough Country?! Their 6 inch lift must clearly be insane!

Well that’s an easy fix…
Buy a bunch of cool stuff for the bed to get the height you want after getting the OME leafs ?. (Bed rack, RTT, bed drawer/slide, stuff like that ?.)

Unfortunately it is no longer mine, but it was certainly a fun car during the time I had it! Good old 2+2 Turbo with the Borg Warner T-5 made for a bunch of fun
