As I am getting older, the size is appealing. Don't need to tow much, if at all. Payload is adequate. Not a ton of electronics aside from drivetrain. I could even appreciate crank windows. Interesting...

I had some fun customizing one on the their site.. honestly, I’m thinking this would be great for my son when he’s ready to get a license.. you can go pick up when needed or have a little suv… I read that a extended range model is in the works aswell (150 mile vs 250 miles for the extended.). Doesn’t appear to have a gas option mentioned or the possibility of one… (sorry dereku.)
Thinking this thing should be rear wheel drive, but hopefully down the line a dual motor awd will be available.. be great for a to work, to school, to store, and home little town runner..(if you have a good home solar setup.).

I'm way too old with creaky joints to be reaching/stretching over to crank down/up passenger windows and to lock/unlock passenger door.
Kudo's to whomever invented power windows and locks !!!!!!!

I think this is really interesting! One caveat is it's priced "sub $20k" with the $7,500 EV tax credit in place. Hopefully that sticks around or even gets expanded. I feel it would have to be expanded to get me into an EV at the prices most of them are at.

It also has fairly low payload ratings. 1400 lbs in the bed, which is respectable, but rated to tow only 1,000 lbs. I have a feeling this has got to do more with range than anything... If it can only go 150 miles empty I can't imagine you'll get very far towing 4,000 lbs.

I am by no means a fan of EV's. However, this is very intriguing to me. Both me and my manager were discussing this last week I love the minimalistic concept of it and the "lego" styling. I could see the attraction to it for certain people. Canoo was another one I thought was pretty cool and I invested a little in it (big mistake :explode: ), won't be making the same mistake with Slate, fool me once lol, even though I feel this one will succeed due to the Bezos effect.

They have a power operated window option. Need that pull out of driveway in the morning, without having to reaching over to crank down passenger window. EV truck might be my wife's next vehicle.
