Thanks for the help, but…

My rear headrests only have the upper button on the pad and on right side of backrest. Left side has no button to push.

Mine fold down. In the 5.5 years I had my XL no one has sat in my back seats. I'm thinking about removing them. Would love to find a delete panel.

The OM page I included is for my 2021. Maybe there was a change since 2019. Here is a link to download a free .pdf Owners Manual.
You might find hard copies on eBay if you prefer.

edit: I Remember now that when I removed mine I had to remove the bolts on the very upper corners of the seat back in order to pull it forward, so that the headrest would clear the rear window molding.

There was a recall for some Supercabs for the rear headrests because they interfered with the ability to install child seats. The fix included replacement headrests which I believe can be flipped down. Check out your vehicle to see if is affected.

NHTSA campaign numbers: 21V765. Ford’s number for this recall is 21C24.
I have those, were replaced on recall.
Originally it had rigid headrests and I just removed them by pushing the release button and yanking real hard.
I leave them flipped down all the time so I can see better. No one ever rides in the back seat.

I've got a 2021 XL trim Supercab...and mine just seem to come out. I agree...they hit the headliner when in the full up position...but I just "compress" them a little bit and there is enough room to pull them out. I do it quite often to clean rear window. Unless..... are XL trim seats slightly different than XLT ones ???
I had my middle one out for years, just squeezed tge tabs and pulled up. I realize it's not as tall and won't hit the ceiling.
Anyone tried tilting the head rest fully forward then try lifting it out? If not I can try later.

For an odd reason, my '22 XL scab did have the buttons in place. No one sits back there, it's fully an area modded for our gone, but loved, Cheech. Now Kota has that space. =)

The only reason I keep the headrests in are to hold up the dog cover on the seat backs. I need to remove them but need to fabricate something to hold the covers (derr, as I write this, a coat hanger would be some fine ingenuity!). =D

proud coat hanger art!
