Oh man that’s the worst chocolate chip ever. Will you be doing any progress pictures?
I will get a few.

I haven't had much time to mess with it but so far I have all the headrests done.

I thought I'd start small to get a general idea of the process so I did the center rear first.

"Wow. That was pretty easy. I think I'll try the front headrests next."

Also not bad.

"Now I'll tackle those 2 rear headrests with the buttons on the side. Means I have to cut holes in the leather. I've got this."

Oh crap. Where is the closest installer? I'm ready to pay someone to do these and I'll sign the check with a smile.

The first one was a bear to lock the retainers into place, but I learned some tricks and the second one was much easier.

Next will be the rear seat since there are no airbags or heaters to fool with, but that will probably be the weekend at earliest.

Edit: Took a quick pic of the front headrest. Still needs to smooth out a bit but that will happen when it warms. Of course, immediately after doing these we have the coldest snap in over a month

The color match is pretty good!

Angled Hog Rig Pliers make it easier, once you get the feel of it after a few rings it gets easier, just be careful when cutting the hog rings out (old ones) ensure you are not cutting the listing wire that is in the cushion - just take it slow and easy with good lighting.

I have a straight set but will likely go ahead and get an angled set too.

I've also seen where lots of people are using heavy duty zip ties instead of hog rings. 120lb zip ties should be plenty strong for this.

The zip ties allow you to tighten in steps to get everything in the place you want before final cinching.

I'm going to get some zip ties as well and see which works best for me.

I will probably only use the zip ties in places that are easier to reach as with my luck the ones deepest in the seat will snap.

You’re inspiring me to look into some seat covers.
I do like the oem XLT tremor seats..(yes the XLT are slightly different than the Lariat Tremor seats..)
I wonder if there is one I can get custom embroidery done in the location the Tremor logo should be if I do…. Sounds like money ?

The color match is nice and tight from what I can see.
I bet you’ll be very happy with the end result.
I’ve wanted to learn how to do proper interior work, but never had time to invest.. maybe that’ll be a self project starting next year.

May I ask what made you go BDS over the (I think) ready lift ones?..
I’m gonna need some (im pretty sure), but I can’t decide..
the ready lift ones look slimmer than BDS but that’s just based on pictures
pictures are worth a thousand words, however some of those words are deceiving lies ?. (Well not really, they can be misinterpreted.)
Anyway just curious why you went bds

I've had products from BDS before and never had anything bad from them.

I was fully planning on getting the ReadyLift beams and was about to add them to my cart when the BDS beams showed up lower on the page.

Hmmm.

BDS products always have a lifetime no questions asked warranty and they are on sale.

Sold!

With my gift card they were $50 vs $100 for the Readylift (wife is already grumbling a bit about all I've spent lately, so a minor concession for her).

Their only purpose is to give more clearance for larger tires and maintain cabin integrity in a crash, so I hope I never need to use them. ?

Planning on going to 285/70/17 when my current 265s wear out probably next year.

I'll post pics when I install them but that will be when I install the winch and winch mount.

Got me a new muffler tip from eBay that I bought for $20 bucks.
4in OD inlet, 5in OD Outlet, 12in length.
This tip for now till I decide if I want to commit to an actual exhaust kit.

I bought seat belt pads a few weeks ago. They're embroidered and looked really nice so I ordered a 2nd set for the back seats. However, I tried saving $2 by going with a different seller. The 2nd set of pads took 3 weeks to arrive and they were cheaply silk screened. So,,, I re-ordered from the guy I bought the 1st set from. I gave the cheap Chinese junk to my dogs.
