So these drop in light are legal and not off road use only?
Yes, these illuminated roads are legal and not just for off-roading. Many of our users have installed these and use them properly. You can go to our website and see those real reviews or go to YouTube and search for auxito

Yet you share a video of someone installing LEDs in a halogen reflector housing.

So, bullshit.

There is no "optimized beam pattern" in a halogen reflector lamp and you know it.

Also you are either ignorant or lying regarding being street legal. LEDS are most certainly regulated in headlamps applications. Again, I think you know this, and are just full of shit.

The NHTSA (which controls the FMVSS) has never approved any aftermarket LEDs bulbs for legality.

I thought something stinks.

Even their website states for off-road use for low beam LEDs (all of them). They made a thread recently and I actually commended them about doing this. What a shitshow, I don't care if you are a sponsor here. You need to be called on this bullshit.

I should have known your response as the time was some scripted malarkey.

If this website's owner had any integrity they would dropkick your account.

I already knew the answer, being a sponsor I wanted to tread lightly lol. I was just curious. As I have that exact model in my fogs, and the beam pattern for my low beams is horrid. Not even a fuzzy cutoff.

Its one thing to sell a product and then having no control over how a customer uses it. It is a completely different thing to lie about a product or ethically skirt the gray line in advertising.

These companies (and in this case specifically AUXITO) also drop any off-road disclaimers from their Amazon (and similar) listings knowing damn well what they are doing.

You know how they do it? They label the same product they do on their website for low beam usage as "Fog lights" on these third party websites.

Their direct website for Y13 bulbs (note disclaimer):

Same product on Amazon for Y13 bulbs (avoids disclaimer, by marketing for "fog lights")

Also, "beam adjustable" is just marketing buzzword for "Yes you can physically rotate the base of the LED" it doesn't actually translate into "This works properly in a halogen reflector housing". Its all smoke and mirrors. Lies. A carefully constructed scheme to minimize litigation.

You are partially correct.
From what I know, halogen bulbs and LEDs have different light emission patterns. Halogen reflectors are designed for the specific filament placement and light spread of halogen bulbs. LEDs have different shapes and emit light from different points, which can cause issues like glare or improper beam patterns.

So, does that mean optimization is impossible? Maybe not entirely. Some LED bulbs are designed with features to better mimic the halogen's filament position, like having a similar base or using adjustable components. If the LED is designed to align the emitting diodes where the halogen filament would be, it might project a beam that's closer to the intended pattern. Additionally, some companies use technologies such as beam-shaping lenses or reflectors built into the LED bulb itself to focus the light better within the halogen housing.

Let's also talk about regulations:
U.S. regulations for automotive headlamps (e.g., Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard FMVSS 108) focus on beam pattern, brightness range, and glare control, rather than simply prohibiting or allowing LED technology. Here's the key:
Retrofit legality: If an LED bulb is a direct replacement for a halogen bulb and the reflector or lens has not been redesigned, it may violate the regulations due to a mismatch in light patterns resulting in glare or scatter.

I can understand that you may have a different opinion on LED lighting, but there are brands that do do a good job and do help others see the unexpected situation in front of them before the deer hits them.

The 2021 Ford Ranger uses the H11 bulb size
But what specific H11 bulb? I tried ones in the past with the rotating base, and no success for me. I was hoping something new came out or less powerful.

I would suggest trying the Y13 series in the video. Its main feature is that it is compact and stable. The brightness is also suitable for daily driving

If you wish to try one with low power, I would suggest trying to use the M3 series. It's 60W which tends to be close to the power of the original halogens.

Also there are two important points that you must look at before you buy bulbs:
1. I checked the usage records of our Ranger users and found that one 2021 user was using a low beam model 9012, I'm not sure if it's a setup issue by the Ranger manufacturer, or maybe this customer replaced his headlight assembly. So I suggest you check the original halogen bulb model number before you buy (it's important)
2. Avoid larger sized fans, especially at the rear, that will prevent your ranger from covering the dust cap, for example the Q16 series in the auxito brand may not fit. Wherever you buy, you need to check the product size to avoid this unless you don't care.
