Interested in RCI SLIDERS?

I had a seemingly stupid question about the 5 degree vs the 20 degree (standard) angle… . Is the 20 degree out most edge of the slider pitched up 20* (in my mind this means it’ll be up tighter to the vehicle body.) meaning the 5* pitch would be slightly easier to use as a step?

((Thoughts I have.. with the higher angle the plate seems unnecessary.. the flatter angle the top plate seems necessary..idk I’m just worried one of my kids might just miss step or slip and well bad day.. maybe top plate is mandatory in my situation regardless for child safety peace of mind.))

I think RCI has a good product available for other similar vehicles and it’s great to see them bring out this option for the 5G…

definitely going to be my choice once I’m in position to replace the bulky tremor side step thingys.

I believe you are correct, the steeper angle hugs the rocker tighter. The 5 degree is more 'step side' like and probably makes better use of the top plate.

I’d check out there Tacoma section you can see a side by side comparison of the two.
For a family I’d think 20 with the plate would be the way to go imo

The 5 degree angle is better used as a step, the 20 degree angle is closer to the rocker panel and provides better ground clearance.

Thanks you guys. Sounds like top cap will be the way to go so no little feet’s slip and cause a real bad day getting caught in the openings.

I'm not exactly sure where you're camped, but that's about 30-35 for me and it keeps us out of the metro which is preferable.
