So, I just started using FORScan yesterday and I have nothing but good and excellence to say about this programming product. I started by changing a few things only to put them back because I preferred them the original way, however I did like the Bambi Mode and kept that change. I also performed the Brake Bleed, without really doing it, and I have to say that the brakes are now a significant improvement.

Okay, so I only really want one thing really bad, and that it the transmission gear display or banner that is next to the right-hand display. As you know, when I put my transmission into drive, I have to toggle the little plus/minus button the gear shift lever in order to make that transmission gear banner or display to pop up on the right-hand side.

I think that it might be at the bottom within IPC, however I kind of gave up yesterday and decided to enquire here. If anyone knows that the name of this feature is, could you please assist me?

If I recall there is not a Forscan (As-Built) for a permanent display, if that is what you are wanting.
I believe you are not the first to want it.

There is nothing you can do to keep the gear display on the dash. No setting in Forscan has been found.

Back to you RangerBill, where can I find an in-depth document that explains all of the line items/options within FORScan????

Not sure if anyone has tried this setting change>

IPC:
720-09-01
0002-05C4-01FD (Change xxx2) to (xxx3) or (xxxB)

Not sure if it will work, so just note what your current setting is before you change it.
This change may have been tried already - IDK, but it is the only line in the IPC As-Builts that relates to the display and is (OE) disabled.

So, factory (OE) is set to (2)
and either option 3 or B are the alternative options that may work.
I am not sure what the (Target Gear Ind) is or specific on what the Gear and Range Display is.

For Ref:

Gear Select - is already set factory to (4) SST
So, no changes here

Gear Display 1.webp

The ref to Shift Indication - below
I believe is for a (Manual Transmission) (Shift Indication) light on the IPC

Factory (OE) is set to (1)
So, one could try (3) for experiment, but I do not think it will do anything
