I retired from the post office. I did 25 Christmas's working 11 or 12 hours a day 6 days a week, sometimes 7 from around Thanksgiving to Christmas, when I was young an no seniority I worked Christmas day a few times. That pretty much ended except maybe for express mail. I had no holiday spirit. I stopped decorating an stuff after the divorce an only did stuff for the kids/grandkids. This is my second Christmas post post office holiday season an a little holiday feelings are returning. Maybe by next Christmas I'll be up to decorate.

Seeing as all of our Christmas stuff is packed away ( and I'm using the Christmas tree box as our tv stand lol) we bought this Charley Brown tree at a garage sale along with a few ornaments. Next year we'll go all out because this is Annie's favorite holiday and we will use this tree on the front porch. I didn't tell her yet but I had the electrician add a plug in the stone above the fireplace mantle so she can plug in the lighted things we have.

Minimalist this year.
I had a knee replacement a few weeks ago and can only make so many trips up and down the basement stairs for decorations and stand for ten minutes at a time. The wife is exhausted between work and county choral society and church choir rehearsals three nights a week and performances every Saturday and Sunday the last couple weeks.
No one is coming over, rather we are going to other family members on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Therefore the pre-lit tree is up with a single Pittsburgh Steelers ornament and candle lights on timers in all of the front windows. No climbing up a ladder ad hanging wreaths on all the windows this year.

The quiet, peaceful holidays can be relaxing. Merry Christmas Jon.
