Throw some switched outlets outside in the soffit for roof lights
I was only so happy when I saw the outlets beside the soffit lights on my new place - no time this year to string lights but it’s on the list for next Christmas. ?

Its nice to be able to walk to the coat closet and flip the switch for Christmas lights when its cold and nasty outside.

We've not been emotionally able to put a tree up for the last 13 yrs (since our daughter passed away-she adored Christmas!) as it was just too hard. Last year we went so far as to buy a small artificial one but just couldn't put it up.
Today I finally did it while Jeanie is at work. She doesn't know.
I reckon I'll find out in a little while if I did the right thing or not.

Merry Christmas, friends.

You found the strength to finally put it up so I think you have the strength to support Jeanie through this Christmas. May your daughter’s memory be a blessing to you both. ? ♥

Our fake tree. 6 years old and not one needle dropped ?. I do miss the smell of a real tree but our DIL is allergic to them.

Then we always put out Brandon the reindeer that we made to explain to the grandkids why the presents have gotten smaller lately ?.

And a nativity set my wife made in ceramics class 40 years ago. The stable was made from a tree hit by lightning that turned the roof of our first house inside out

I made some Santa engravings for presents

All the best to you Chris. Tough waters you are navigating. Life is never the same afterwards. Hope a bit of Christmas cheer finds you both.

We lost our oldest son 14 years ago… another few weeks and it will be 15. Christmas is still fun in our world. Though the memories of Christmas past are always there. Birthday, and some other special dates…. Rough waters. Rough.

I stopped in my local Lowes to pick up about $10 worth of items then as I had to walk past the Christmas decorations area they had just finished marking it all down 75% from the current price....that's just WRONG tempting a guy like that!

Terri and I had talked about installing permanently mounted Christmas lights in the near future. We'll the future is today. I left with a cart full of color tape outdoor led lights, 216 programmable multi colored lights in a 19.6 foot tape. $10 a box. 45 boxes...two 50 foot rolls of 250 led colored lights...ten boxes of 24.5 foot 100 led color lights... four 4 outlet plug ins with a remote control.

My math tells me that's 11,220 individual, non Italian twinkle lights/ leds plus allergy the other lights we already had on hand, those should total over 1,000 easily. That's 12,220+ lights, Clark Griswold had 25,000 but he had a 2 story huge house probably 2,500 or so square feet. Ours is a ranch style 900 to 1,000 square foot Ranch so we should give Clark a run for his money!

Spent about $400 total, I had some discounts populate at the register.
