Well today I finally hit the magic 100k. Since purchasing the truck a year and a half ago at 51k miles, I have just piled the miles on

Even with all of the off-road abuse and towing, the only components that have failed on me have been an axle seal on the driver rear, and of course the sloppy factory FX4 shocks which were promptly replaced with bilsteins

All I can say is I couldn’t be happier, here’s to another 100k!

Nice! Hope, 100k more trouble free miles.
Oh I sure hope so.

Been having some funny shifting in the mornings, just hoping it’s the colder weather up here and not something more serious.

10R80 does shift awkard when cold at times. Could be egr sensor bucking. Lot's of info in this forum.

Primarily has just been a 3-4 harsh/delayed engagement. I know my fair share about automatic transmissions, but the 10R80 is a box of mysteries in my world.

The 3-4/3-5 is what mine started with. Believe it is the first oil galley to be slightly obstructed once the CDF bushing moves. Have you ever had the transmission serviced?

Not yet no, I more likely than not need to. I’ve been all over the country for work in the last 1.5 years, with little to no time for anything but hotel parking lot oil changes and diff services.

Just threw plugs in it a week ago, as I’ve finally been home, and had tire set #2 put on.

The trans issues are relatively new, and I'm starting to kick myself for not following the rough service maintenance intervals.

And I know from experience with the Heavy duty Allison transmissions that a previous lack of maintenance can exacerbate the issue to a point of total failure within automatics.

Congratulations on your mileage. I am familiar with Allison trans issues with 40+ years as a diesel mechanic starting with GM v-drives and AT and HT Allisons. Yes you should get the 10R 80 serviced soon.

And toss in a bottle of Lubeguard Platinum. Well worth the small money. And even better, get a real dipstick from Mike's Build Shop.

I’ve been looking at those for a minute, but every time I go to order one, he’s sold out
