Looking for a replacement snap in tray above the radio.

I would like to buy this tray but without the ridges, in other words completly flat. The reason I need it flat is because I have a specific kind of phone adapter that needs a large flat area to firmly secure to. I have looked but have been found wanting. Anyone know where I can get one that is flat without ridges?

You will find various posts on mods to the tray to allow for attachments.
There is not a factory or aftermarket option for a flat tray - I think I remember seeing a - 3D printed option someone made.

A possible solution, a thin piece of Plexiglass, cut to fit the base and then secured with Screws or Velcro or Glue.
Velcro would be the easiest option as long as the Velcro is strong and a good quality.

This exactly what I did for my Garmin. It is mounted to an acrylic plate held in place with Velcro. Easily reversible.

Necessary tools for work that you do with your Ranger! There is a camera display and another phone / device holder too Not shown. I do need to find a place to mount my weBoost inside antenna though.

I'm old enough to have learned how to drive while looking through Tapes and CD's, so multitasking like shifting, rolling down the window, using your knee to hold the wheel is a breeze.

I only have my HAM radio mic, my InReach Mini 2 and my baby monitor. None of which block more than the hood. I just like that plate.

I haven't tried it, but you can probably fill it with a bit of resin to get rid of the ridges.

oh. you're fine. This is something people who don't have it don't understand. I was just sharing my setup.

I just dont want my radio sitting in View and Heat
its bad enough people see a non standard antenna and wonder what its attached to!

I have the Icom 2730 so its the mic and the face, but the radio us under my seat. I can disconnect both if I am going to be parking somewhere I don't trust. I work from home and don't really go places with people these days. All my items can be taken off and stored.
