Hello Everyone!! I'm currently in the market foe a new set of tires, still on the stock Hankook's at 59K on my 2019 Lariat. I drive mostly highway and live in CT so need something good in the snow & rain around the stock weight. The stock Hankooks were pretty good but looking for something better. I'm probably gonna stay with the stock height after debating going to a 70 instead of a 65.

The best deal I see on tire rack is the Firestone Destination AT/2 with a $100 instant rebate for $787. Also considering the Cooper Discoverer Road & Trail AT or anything else that may be a good all around tire. Looking for real work experience with the brands and if you'd buy them again. This is my 1st truck so I have no idea what to pick!!

First off - WOW!!!

59K on your original tires must be a record! Well done and you must be a smooth driver! =)

Second, there are so many tire threads here - all with great advice and experience. I'd say to search and you'll eventually find someone that has similar expectations for what tire is best for you.

I personally like Firestones and had a set on my old FJ40 for many, many years. Tires have certainly improved from that time (the 1980s).

Cooper's are great tires too.

That perfect all-terrain tire is an elusive beast but most are very, very good.

For me, I would like an AT tire but, in reality, an all-season would fit my actual needs. I never go off-road (the closest is the gravel road at the dump where you go dump dirt and rocks).

I personally dream of a Nokian Outpost nAT - I like the rating and liked Nokian's winter performance on my wife's car.

It supposedly is pretty quiet. Although, I rarely do any long road trips.

My Ranger came with the Bridgestones and have been fine for me (I toss on chains if it's really snowy out). But that's for short runs to the post office (or dump, as that's always my dream destination).

So search this forum for the two tires you mentioned and see how people have liked them and also how they look. Looks are important to many and there's nothing wrong with that.

Good luck! And let us know how it goes! =)

LOL, I have spent so much time researching tires. And I'm sure I'll do some more. I only have 6,800 miles on my Ranger so maybe I should be more patient and try to get as much out of them as you have.

You're kind of a tire mileage inspiration! =D

If I go this long, I can just change them out at the dump! =p

I'm in the same boat....I have about 54K on my Hankook's. They still have some life left (if I had to guess, I think I can get to 70K), but I've done some research here and there. I might go a touch bigger....I don't love the look of the stock size.

Something like the Yokohama Geolandar G015 or the Michelin Defender LTX might be your style. Very good road going tires . I am partial to very aggressive all terrains, but I have one friend that ran the Geolandars on his Taco and another that runs the michelins on his Canyon. Both do trailwork with me out in the woods and they've proven to be very good tires.

Real advice: all of the major manufacturers make a similar tire in this light all terrain class. The best move is to find one that matches the door sill sticker and happens to be on sale the day you're looking. Hard to go wrong with that approach!

Yes, that is a great approach!! The Firestones check most of the boxes and the price is perfect

I'd recommend the michelin LTX's, they make a fantastic tire and they hold up very well. My dad had some on his F-350 and had no complaints with them other than they just got old on him.

I'm currently running the new KO3's and I love them, just probably more aggressive than you're looking to go.

Cooper Discoverer Road + Trail AT 265/65/18 XL are working really well for me. I'm eager to get these in the snow and see how they perform. I am pleased how well they grip the pavement in the rain. Road noise is not an issue at all.
Bonus is they look pretty sweet too :sunglasses:

I have the Cooper Road & Trail and it is a definite improvement over the Hankook LT tires that came with the truck. They give me a better ride and are quiet too. I went from 265/65/17 to 265/70/17 and have the Ford Fox Leveling kit. Haven't put that many miles on them but they are much better in the rain than the Hankook's.
