Yeah I was the same way. Because I would only occasionally do it, I'd pull up a warmup vid and follow along and it added so much time. But once I kept it up and memorized it, it really only takes like 15 minutes to bang through it.

Odd thing I noticed was some mornings it was pretty uncomfortable and other mornings I would feel nothing like I had already done it. It was completely random too. It got me thinking how it could be caused by a bad nights sleep, stress or bad dreams even. You could start your day with a rough mental state, which in turn tenses your muscles up and as a result injure yourself physically.
OMG yes! I've never been a good sound sleeper and had a lot of stress when I had the business back east. Most mornings I could barely bend down to tie my shoes let alone touch the floor. I noticed a big change once I sold it and moved to AZ and had a lot less stress! I still don't sleep great but a lot better than I use to and next we're looking to get a new adjustable bed and good mattress which should help. I need to get up and stretch before turning on this darn laptop and getting on here. lol

I had one, and liked it. Started out with I was comfortable with, maybe 5 minutes. Over a few weeks, I wound up around 20 minutes or so. For me, the trick to less of a head rush is to return upright very slowly, maybe 30 seconds travel time.
Have had back issues my whole life. 2 discs removed, all that did was remove the side effect. A few years later, they wanted to remove 2 more, no way Jose. I got relief from chiro adjustments, but still, no cure. just finished 4 week OT,PT at Dartmouth Medical Center. 6+ hours a day for a month. That has helped, but not sustainable. I currently do 1+ hour a day. The exercises are mainly core strengthening and flexibility. I do still get flareups, but none that put me down for month or longer.
Back pain sucks, especially when it immobilizes you, and everyone's recovery is different in some way, shape, or form.

Yes, back pain sucks and hopefully yours isn't still to bad. I was watching videos on them last night. They were saying (like you said) take it slow for the first week or two then gradually increase your time and angle. One thing they said that helps is if you stay inverted for like 5 minutes then come back to level for 1 minute then back down for another 5 minutes. It helps keep you from. feeling dizzy with all the blood rushing to your head.

We have one and it helps my wife quite a bit for her hips. However, that scene in Deliverance when the pig starts squealing might align the back as well.

They do take some time getting used to. There is no jumping into it. At first quite uncomfortable even at just 20 degrees incline. Go slow and you'll be fine. Baby Steps. Otherwise you'll find it thrown out in the backyard!

I had one that my friend gave me.. Got a terrible case of vertigo and I will never get back on one of those. I now use traction boots and lay down and stretch my knees with exercise bands and that is working well. Apparently stretching knees allows blood flow in the the arthritic joint and promotes healing.
watch this utube video on this young Dr. who quit being a neurosurgeon/back surgeon. It is slow- so be patient takes about 30 min. for him to make his point. (All about money not patient)

lol I looked on Marketplace and there are a ton of them on there. Yes every article and video I've watched says to start slow, only 1-3 minutes at 20 degrees. Then gradually increase your time and degree with a max of 20-30 minutes. When coming back up they all said to go level for a few minutes to regain you bearings.

I'm picking it up today right after lunch. If no one hears from me by dinner time send help. I could be stuck at 180 degrees. ??

Thanks for the video I'll watch it later. They say some just can't get use to it and for some it can cause more harm than good. I figured for $50.00 it's worth a shot and I'll keep it at 20 degrees for the first week or two. I really can't see myself going past 60 degrees on a regular basis. I'm sure I'll eventually try going 180 but will make sure Annie's there to spot me. ? On second thought she might just leave me there.

After last Dr. visit , she measured me (no, not that, that would require a micro surgeon) but said I was 3 centimeters (Dr.s like the metric system for some reason , but that's a little over an inch ) shorter on the leg I fell on verses the other , (which would explain my double thick freak ankle) do you think maybe if I hung only from my short leg ? I could stretch back out a bit ? Hate to have to go change my height on all those dating sites , especially the male ones , they all touchy about height and I was right at that 6 foot mark , but now, not so much ... maybe if while I'm hanging upside down somebody could tug on my arms ? Dave ? You busy ?

I don't sleep so good (a big part of that is my apnea from my jovial and robust size). Tha

And be really patient, as others have said "baby steps".

Pretty sure alcohol won't flow uphilll like that and get to my belly ?, or will it ? Or will gravity keep the alcohol ? down there close to my brain ? (what's left anyway) and work even faster , therefore cheaper? And how does "throwing up " work like that ? Wouldn't it just shoot out your ...???

Be very sure to set your balance point correctly. It is important. When you have it right, it takes minor effort to move in either direction.

I just got it back home and set the balance for my height. I only did 20 degrees for about 2 minutes and it was fine. You could feel a little "head rush" starting but nothing to bad at that angle and very little decompression but it's a good starting point. I'll increase my time each day and give it until the end of the weekend until I go to 40 degrees which I'm sure at that angle you'll feel more of a decompression.
