Quick question, I have a rear OEM fox shock on my Tremor that's leaking. The dealer said it's not covered under the factory 3 yr. 36k mi. warranty. They're the only dealer within an hour and a half and they have a terrible reputation. I thought I would check with this group to see if anyone has run into a similar situation and has any advice. Thank you.

They may be thinking it's wear and tear, Fox says their stuff needs to be rebuilt as soon as 10k miles if a mixture of on and off road

Having said that I would still think the 3/36 bumper to bumper would apply and you should find another dealer

I can see it not being covered if they want to weasel out of it. I think it says suspension an brakes are "wear items" not covered. If your mileage is low they SHOULD cover it to make a customer happy and keep them coming back.

My Jeep JL factory shock was covered under the 3/36 warranty. The new shock was covered 1 year 12000 miles after in was replaced.Did the Ranger come from the factory with those shocks? If so I'd think it would be covered.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, they are the factory shocks so I think I'll check with another dealer that's an hour and half away and see if they're better to deal with. Thanks again.

You could also reach out to Ford customer service on the phone or their chat function.

That might get you an unbiased response before trudging to another dealer.

Also, depending on their response, you get you may want to reach out to fox direct and explain your situation I feel like fox only has a 90 day or 1 year warranty but not sure. I was watching a shock surplus video and they mentioned fox warranties and how they prefer other brands based solely off warranty coverage. Ie over by a month they aren't covered at fox, where other companies will do a good will type of coverage....

Yes, there's a spot on the Fox website to fill out a form to return them for a rebuild. I want to say it was around $125/shock so figure $500ish for the complete set or more plus shipping and the truck will obviously be sitting unless you have a set of takeoffs to switch to in the interim.

Retired from Honda Racing.
I have wondered the same thing, what to do when they leak.

On my old Raptor I considered resealing them myself, but then I found new replacement shocks for a reasonable price and I didn't have to have the truck down as long.

The Fox shocks are not long lived, but I do like how they ride, the suspension is the primary reason I got the Tremor.

No reason for it not to be covered by warranty.

I just skimmed but that looks like an F250 thread, their Tremor does not come with Fox shocks. One person I think mentioned that they were going to switch to Fox 2.0 after the replacement set is done.
It was more pointed towards ford covering replacement of suspension components...
