Days and days of it ...can't do much outside , instant sweat ? instant regret.. even the pool isn't helping as it seams to be working like a giant magnifying glass superheating the water , have to stay cool and be outside but heat and sweat ? and delirium and such has me thinking ?

Everybody knows you guys got the "dry heat" , which really isn't hot at all and we on this side would probably need a light jacket...

Dry heat my @ss! It's darn hot when it gets above 110 especially when the wind is blowing. Just pre heat your oven to 450, open the door and stick a hair dryer inside blowing at you and you'll see. lol ?

It's 92 here in AR right now and the humidity/dew points are at 50%/70% and it's not bad. But I'm use to it growing up in MA and I hate any extreme temps.
One nice thing here is the mornings are nice (at least now they are) and we had the windows open for a few hours this morning.

I had a Vanilla Ice tape once and it melted. I left it on the dash of my Mom's car and the heat made it too wavy to fit back into the tape player.

I'll take a dry 120F over this any day (In my later years of living at home, I grew up in Phoenix, in your referenced side of town and have experienced 125F):

One of the most exhaustive heat experiences I have ever had was outside of Atlanta, several years back (which was right up there when I was in MOP4 in San Antonio heat). We were at the track and I just couldn't cool off and I felt like I was in a hot tub. I went into the enclosed trailer, which was open with lots of airflow and there was zero change. I looked up the weather and it was only 80F... Eight. Zero. The humidity was so high that is was awful. I went back home to Colorado at 8k ft of dry, low atmospheric pressure and put a hoodie on at 80F.

Was 99F earlier here at my house in AR... Pretty miserable. We got up early to do some landscaping and were done by 11AM. Mister systems don't work out here...

Honestly I'm not (and have never been) a huge fan of hot weather and lover the spring and fall the most. But the endless heat in AZ day after day with no clouds and no rain just wears you down. At least it did for me. Funny because when I moved out there I told Annie "I'll never complain about the heat". Fast forward 9 years and that's all I've been doing for the past 2 years.

Unfortunately there's no perfect place. I had friend who've lived in Hawaii and after 4-5 years hated it and moved back to the east coast. He had a great job/great money building cabinets but just couldn't stand being on an island.We all thought he was crazy but now I can see it. You just have to find that happy medium where you can make it all work out. I hope this is our because I hate moving and don't have it in me to do it again anytime soon. lol

I definitely remember the endless sunny days where it seemed like there was never a cloud. I'm not, or more so not anymore, a hot weather guy. I just know I don't like winters with more than 1 or 2 snows that don't stick around, salt, etc. If it weren't for winters, I would have moved back to Omaha as I liked it there, outside of the Midwestern winters. Those became brutal at times.

We're in the middle of remodeling, so our A/C systems are barely keeping up with the upper 90's and 100's temps (had quite a few 106F days last year). I spend a lot of time in my shop as I work from there (e-tuning from home these days). I put two window A/C units in last year to keep it nice inside, but I am going to take the OSB down, seal and insulate it all, then drywall. I then plan to swap the window units for a mini-split.

I remember you looking to possibly move out this way. Where in NWA did you end up? I'm 100 miles from XNA, in Greenwood. We wanted a smaller town when we moved from Denver. I absolutely understand there being no perfect place to live... I was a military brat and did 20 years in the AF, then 6 with FEMA and this was the first move that didn't involve the military/government or any outside factor swaying our decision, and I've lived a lot of places. I'm coming up on 2 years here, at the end of August. This year seems to be a bit more humid than last year was. Dry air is what I miss the most... I don't like sweating, doing nothing... Or even when I'm not hot.

MD is called the old line state... Different myths as to why... One is from MD and Delaware holding line in a summer battle during revolution... Basically those men were used to hot humid conditions when everyone else was dropping of heatstroke... Seen very high humidity and heat many times... You learn to sweat and drink water.... Hard part is as you get older it takes time to adjust ... My wife wears a sweater or fleece in the 80s... She's complaining it's hot. I can't wait till the body acclimates going from 70&80s to high 90s and high humidity sucks. Having been in Georgia during the summer... I can honestly say that I understand why those folks just move at a different pace and sip their ice cold sweet tea.

Every place I've ever stayed in that had those were super comfortable and what's nice is they're quiet and energy efficient.I thought of doing them in our new house but they're still to expensive for a whole house. So I'm doing an upgraded HVAC unit, better windows and spray foam insulation which should make it comfortable and efficient.

We're up in Bella Vista on the Missouri border and are renting a house right now until ours is built. I think it's a little cooler here than where you are being the hottest it's been has only been 93 and so far and mornings have been nice. What I like is it actually cools off a little once the sun goes down. Unlike AZ where it just stays hot (heat island effect) from all the concrete, tile roofs and asphalt everywhere. It's not uncommon to still be 106 at 10:00pm in July & August and 90 at 5:00am.

Then there's all the rude and inconsiderate people who've moved to AZ! The place is one huge melting pot of transplants who bring their crazy ways and all want to change the area to where they came from. No one is friendly there and it's almost impossible to make good friends. We've been walking and have said hello to others and most will just ignore you and keep their head down as they pass you. I've heard this complaint from many of my customers too in all different areas around the west valley. I would say 70% of the jobs I did last year were for people who were freshening up their house to sell to move away out of state. Most were going to the Carolinas, Tennessee and Texas. It seems the areas where people are "a little friendlier" are in the 55+ gated communities. I think they have more amenities there and the older people go out and socialize more.

Amen to that brother! I was running on pure adrenaline for the last couple weeks. Only sleeping 3-4 hours/night and working all day packing and organizing the move and the build. Once we got here it felt like a huge weight was lifted and the last 2 nights I finally slept 7 hours.

I was out burning brush yesterday in "dangerous heat" and I was fine. Same last summer, I am always outside. The feels like temps are BS. I think they take peak humidity (which is early morning) and peak temperature (in the afternoon) and combine them to get these "feels like 120" reports when it never is. A good weather app like weather underground where you can choose what to display, and see humidity burning off with temp increase, is more helpful then some frantic weather girl. When I went looking for a better weather app I found they don't display humidity anymore, just "feel's like" temps. Let me judge what it feels like.

As far as the rude people coming in, well I typed something long out and deleted it lol. I'll just say they require an appropriate response. Some of the country folk are a bit naive in how welcoming they are, as they haven't lived around these people like I have.
