Greeting fellow inmates,

Just picked up a clean 2019 Ranger XLT, and would like to upgrade the horn(s). Has anyone done this and can they tell me how to get to the stock horn?

Really? The horn? You must use it a lot. :)
I don't remember the last time I used mine, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't describe it as anemic.

Perhaps a bad or loose connection. I've had squeaky horns on other vehicles from corroded connections.

Corporate drone. Dilbert's world is alive & well.
I agree, mine is loud enough to spook me when it does the double honk.
Hate that double honk!

Ok everybody, I know I know!!! "Just plug a laptop with that whachamacallit program into your truck and change the settings...."

Does the phrase chickenshit mean anything to you?! When the subject is plugging a laptop into my blue beauty the bumper sticker should read "I is skeer'd!"

I'd be scared too.
I am absolutely that guy that could turn a truck into a brick with very little effort and access to a laptop.

I got like 4 horns I've bought. Just haven't gotten around to hooking them up. Or just adding one or two.

I completely agree! It was so embarassing, and just didn't match the 'expression' I felt the vehicle had haha It was one of the first things I just HAD to change it. I put a Stebel Nautilus horn in mine. I'll attach the before and after audio clips ?

I'm in Australia though, I don't know if there are differences to yours in this area. Mine was easy enough to locate behind the LHS bumper, reach up and under to unplug and unbolt. I found a suitable mounting location nearby to mount the Nautilus. I bought a wiring harness with the horn, ran power from the battery, mounted the relay, cut the factory horn wiring plug off and terminated it to my harness. I'll find some pics and attach those too...

EDIT: Sorry, the audio clips aren't uploading. I've shared them here.

And for anyone wondering about the double honk - It's actually much softer and less scary with this horn. I had to turn it back on in Forscan because I got stranded once doing a car switcheroo thing with my partner, he left with my key in his pocket!
