they say they can get me a truck if I like, but I don't really need it at this time of year. We won't be towing the horses for any shows or anything. I guess I will see when they actually call me.

Even though the door makes a little snapping noise every time I open it, they say it's not a hazard and I can open and close it as I wish.

So I guess the bottom line is that it's all cosmetic damage.

Got hit rear ended last april... quote was $19,000 and change. They ultimately totalled her, but not for cost. They couldnt get parts, 'indefinite back order'. ?

Her electronics warned her, she probably did it so fast it never registered in her bird brain the alarms were going off till she hit you.

Tesla owners are insane man. I saw one with it's alarm going off randomly when people were walking by it. Started thinking the sensitivity was too high and the proximity of people walking past was setting it off.

It even happened when I walked over to take a closer look. Was going to write it off then the windows started rolling up and down and the tailgate opened and closed.

I called for a tow (auto thefts were quite rampant in the area at the time) to move it to the impound for safekeeping lest someone steal stuff out of it or crawl inside it while all this is going on thinking surely it's malfunctioning.

Just as the tow is getting ready to hook it up the idiot owner shows up, she couldn't remember where she parked it ? Somehow rolling the windows up and down and opening the doors and honking the horn randomly was going to solve that. Stupid beaver ?

Had another responding to an auto theft in progress in a parking garage with a buddy. We see a Tesla out of a space, with tire marks behind it, with nobody in it and we're thinking "holy cow they're pulling cars out of spaces to load them on dollies or flatbeds now, insane!"

So we stop there and look around, nothing. It's locked. We find the owner in another part of the structure and bring her over to it and show her the marks. Marks are unrelated. She moved it out of the space remotely... why... couldn't remember where she parked it. Stupid beaver ?

So we broke off looking for the bad guys because of her dumb ass. For people that act all pompous and superior for driving such a supposedly sophisticated vehicle they sure are pretty freakin' stupid a lot of the time.

Pissed me off too.

Those vehicles have a serving tray sized screen in the cockpit and I assume radars and gizmos everywhere. Weren't warning bells and sirens going off in the cabin or were they silenced by her Tesla Privilege???
I'll bet the final cost of the repair that she heard all of the bells and sirens, but thought that the car was going to do something about it. That's the problem with all of these "collision avoidance" systems; they lull increasingly inept drivers into a false sense of security that the car's systems will do all of the work of preventing an accident, and then the fans of being lazy, irresponsible drivers point to failures like this to proclaim that self-driving cars are the answer. No, you idiot: the problem was that you were stupid enough to think that you were already there, and therefore don't have to take responsibility for your actions! If that's the kind of driver that you want to be, then rescind your license and become a passenger; problem solved, for everyone!

No, thankfully my wife and I were fine. The other driver seemed fine too.

I was exceptionally pissed because I only had her for about a year, 2021 with about 14K on it (and a .9% loan ?)

Ughhhhh

So much technology nowdays. I used to think that Park Distance Control was overkill LOL

I don't know, but last night when I was searching for parts and prices it said the box is discontinued!

How's that possible on a vehicle out of production less than a year?
