I keep all of my brass, thinking I'll start reloading someday, but haven't had the gumption to do it yet.![]()
New to reloading, my first batch of reloads. Using a Hornady LnL turret press with Hornady dies.
Hornady 9mm XTP 115gr, 5.3gn CFE Pistol, Fiocchi Primer, COL 1.075.
Waiting on my FMJs to arrive so I can get those loaded and head to the range.
I'm jealous! I keep looking for auctions of affordable replicas. My boss is a HUGE fan of old Colts and has an EXTENSIVE collection. I'll shoot some photos and post them here!Well, I won an auction today for a Colt 1849 Pocket model. Except that, by mistake, I won 2 auctions.
If anybody wants a black powder revolver made in 1856 or 1871, let me know.
It'll probably be a week or so before I get them. I look forward to shooting them.
TBH, the replicas seem to go for something like 200-250 on auctions, which seems a lot to me. The Remington 1858 replica I got from a website called Gallery of Guns. It included powder horn, cleaning tools, nipple wrench, bore cleaner, butter for the cylinders after you load them, and some other stuff, for about $300. So, I bought that, because all that other stuff was more than $100 separately.I'm jealous! I keep looking for auctions of affordable replicas. Damn, awesome! I'm jealous! Here we go. I mistakenly won 2 auctions, so I will likely sell 1 of them. Not sure which yet.
The top one in the pic is from 1856, and the bottom one 1871. These have an engraved cylinder scene of a stagecoach hold up, which h I find sorta odd. The older one still has nice engraving. The newer one is worn.
Looks the 1871 model has been used much more than the 1856.
Anyways, here you go

I recognize that gun, owned by a bandit that shot me in the chest. They may have wounded me but they'll never get the best of better men. Cause I'll ride again. The top one in the pic is from 1856, and the bottom one 1871. These have an engraved cylinder scene of a stagecoach hold up, which h I find sorta odd.
Ouch. Did they have bandaids then?I recognize that gun, owned by a bandit that shot me in the chest. They may have wounded me but they'll never get the best of better men. Cause I'll ride again.
