It's time for you to come spend some time up North. Spending a few hours digging your truck out of a snowbank is on your shovel's bucket list; you've neglected it for far too long.that is so crazy to me. i dont think i have ever seen 3 foot of snow in person in my life.
so now we need a few sound clips!
Sure thing man! This is the second Carven over axle dump mod I’ve seen on the forum. It really looks well thought out and well-made. Thanks for the pics and write-up Rich.
It was interesting this morning we were leaving and she says "so we're taking the truck, right?" normally I can't claw her from her subi if she is driving. ?I love driving in the snow too, my wife, also not so much. She's from the east coast. But she moved here to ski, so I feel like she should be fine with it.
Living where it dumps snow is not for the weak.... Maybe that's their problem... ? ? ?It's time for you to come spend some time up North. Spending a few hours digging your truck out of a snowbank is on your shovel's bucket list; you've neglected it for far too long.![]()
hey it sounds nice! i expected it to be really raspy and busy like a bumble bee ricer sound.
What I could get the wife to record before heading to dinner, I'll try to get more before heading back to work
Sure thing man!
So anecdotally, after a little around town driving... it's more aggressive than I thought it would be. You can hear it purring as soon as you start it or idling at a light.
It also does NOT do the obnoxious stuff I hate that teens do with their civics. There's no burbling or sputtering when you let off the throttle.
It sounds a little growly at low to mid RPM but once it starts downshifting and you're cruising it settles down pretty fast. Have not had it on the highway yet. Can report back on that after Sunday at the latest I know I have some highway driving to do for work.
I should also add the phone doesn't really do it justice, you can almost feel it if you're sitting in the truck or standing outside. First time I really gave it some pedal I startled myself ? it was more than I expected. The videos don't really convey that.
If it did I'd be under there taking it back off today. I hate that ricer culture and all it's obnoxious behaviorhey it sounds nice! i expected it to be really raspy and busy like a bumble bee ricer sound.
huge thanks to BigBlue and others// did yet another oil change (yesterday) and it finally went smoothly. Searching "three jaw filter wrench" found me exactly what i needed. I might even try it without removing the wheel next time. What has been an absolute nightmare filter removal is now super easy. // I change my oil every 5000 or so and i do a 950 mile round trip on the freeway once a month sometimes more so i end up doing this a few times a year. Last time i did it i came here to say what a miserable day i had doing this to my Ranger, now it is no problem. Thank you everyone this forum is a huge help. Not sure what to say about this post.
I use an expandable three jaw filter wrench with a long socket extention. Works great! I Got mine at Harbor Freight.
I change mine every 5000 as well. When i was approaching the 5000 mile mark i youtubed what it would take to do a drain and filter and couldnt beleive i had to partially remove the wheel well liner to get to the filter. And i know next time that the filter drainage is to the rear of the filter not the front like i thought. Pretty easy to do once you have done it once.huge thanks to BigBlue and others// did yet another oil change (yesterday) and it finally went smoothly. Thanks for posting this. Ive been delaying my camera install that i took out of my old rig because its such a sloppy install with the wire. Just ordered the harness.4 years. Jesus man. ?
I was trying to find the little pigtail I bought that plugs into the windshield thing there, it cuts down on one wire you have to hide... It was like 10 bucks or something. If I find it I'll post it....
Found it! Dongar Dashcam Power Adapter (3-pin Type B) for Select Ford Vehicles. Compatible with 2019+ Ford Ranger, and More. Built-in USB Power Source, Connects to Rearview Mirror, Easy to Install https://a.co/d/56aDsd5
And apparently it is 35 bucks. Holy hell that was an expensive wire. ?
When I replaced mine I felt the increase in hp.Replaced my antenna with a Stubby Jr.
