I believe remote start came with the 302A package, my 22 XLT FX4 has the remote start on the key fob

No, the FOB remote start is completely different from the remote start with FordPass. The FordPass remote start uses the trucks Cell modem and can be used anytime the truck has an AT&T cell signal and your phone has a data signal. The FOB remote start uses a radio signal and FOBs with and without the remote start feature us different frequencies.

I believe all trucks can start using the FordPass app. Only trucks equipped with Remote Start can use the fob. Now I am not sure what would happen if you programmed a remote with the start feature.

when you remote start using that kit does it use the ford remote start settings? aka: turn the heater and heated seats on? When you get in do you then also have to hit the ignition button before you can drive it? I like all these factors about remote starting with my phone but am interested in that kit.

Im my truck it does adjust the temp accordingly and yes, when you get in, you have to hit the start button.

No worries..... It does shut off, but I don't recall after how long. I think it is 15 or 20 minutes.

It probably says in the Amazon link.

I believe you can adjust the idle time through the cluster menu.

I could with my F150, not sure about the ranger.

It does a 15 min start and you can do it a second time. The vehicle stays running until you touch the brake peddle. It does adjust climate on start up. Also an option in the menu cluster to change that as well.
