What happened??????
Long distance fall into a compacter , all my weight (220 lb) landed on that ankle, crawling my way back up was a damn challenge , may have passed out a little from the pain , kinda a blurr, haven't even had the surgery yet as they claimed it was too swollen to operate, i think they all just all wanted out early for turkey day, surgeon said 6 months to a year before returning to work... may just retire...

Yeesh...they told me the same when I broke my leg about waiting for the swelling to go down.

Since you're going to be busy with doctors and rehab with I took the liberty of updating your avatar for you:

Don't let it get you down. It sucks for awhile. My uncle was a MX racer, he has so many rods and pins. He still is skiing and playing golf and he says the steel in his ankles makes him a better skier cause his ankles are reenforced or something. It sounds wacky but he insists it's the case.

Friday yet?

You might've gotten fired then for the damage caused to the compactor!
squinty grin.webp

Hope that your surgery is successful and recovery is complete.
If you are that close to retirement, weigh going back to work very carefully. I had a severe back injury in a motorcycle crash that kept me out of work for about 4 months. I was cleared to go back to work, but as I had an assembly line job that involved repetitive heavy lifting, twisting, bending, I thought it better to not risk further damage. I quit and started selling cars. Car keys are lighter than a 23 cu ft chest freezer.

And I still ride?

Damn, sorry to hear that. Time passes quickly and soon you be back in the Ranger visiting the casinos. In the meantime, you'll have a chance to write us some songs. ;)
