I had the idea of making some sort of bed topper that could be a sleeping / star gazing platform to lay on. covering the bed is the easy part. making it strong enough to hold my fat self, a few drinks, pillow, blanket, and hopefully a lady is the hard part. most of the covers on the market will not hold more than 100 pounds or so per square foot. and those cost more than i think they are worth.

Just throw an old couch in the bed. I did that with my old F150. Find someone throwing one out, save yourself 2 grand!

i did that a few times as a kid lol. but i had an 8 foot bed. now with these short beds a recliner barely fits. then no room for my cooler and spare fuel etc.
