I instantly lost interest when I learned the base XL with no options costs $2,000 more than my current E-locker, carpeted equipped STX does.

Well, I already said it before; this is the last ford product I'm going to buy. Quality is dog shit, and it'll just be worse for the 6G.
Do what you want. Just remember the things I mentioned like how all trims have the Sync 4 infotainment center. Also remember that the STX is the cheap ass package for those that want an XLT but don't want to pay for an XLT.

why are you here then?
Perhaps you missed the fact that I had a 5G Ranger and after loosing it I decided to hang around anyways.

Also like Patrick said, too annoy you.

To annoy you?
no, its a legit question.
I used to part of a Racing pigeon forum. When I stopped racing pigeons, I left the forum.
I also didn't renew my Costco card this year, and I haven't gone back. I don't even read the emails they still send. But I bet there are some nice sales on Christmas items already.
I once signed up for a dating site, when I found it was just gold diggers looking to spend my fortune, I left and didn't renew my membership either. Haven't gone back even though there was some nice ladies.
So, yeah, I'm just wondering the motive here.

Not everyone wants a big ass tablet in their face. Granted it looks a lot better than the "stick on" style everyone is doing, so I'll give it that.

I don't see how Sync 4 along with a bigger LCD justifies the increase in prices. That's what annoys me about Ford. They raise prices almost quarterly. Prices are insane.

The only thing that is available on the 6G I'd want is the heated steering wheel. All the 'issues' with the 5G I can deal with especially since my 2019 is about paid off and I feel I've tweaked all the shortcomings in the truck and can deal with any manufacturing failures as they arise.

I too am too old to give a significant shit. ?

It's not just that. It's all the other tech that is added to the next generation. Unfortunately due to the extra tech I myself am simply not interested

the best part of that truck is gonna be the Sync4 radio and you know it!
if that guy really knew our trucks.... and he doesnt, he could have pushed the power button and turned on the radio without the key!, and "his" bed aint as high as the F150 LOL
if your mom can look in your windows your truck needs something BAHAHAHA
that guy is all about hype, his voice lights up when he talks about that ford badge?

The only thing the 6G has that intrigues me is the plugin hybrid - which doesn't sound like the US is getting. If so, I'll keep my 5G, which I've been really happy with (and is paid off) - and deal with any issues that come up.

A plugin hybrid with a 6 foot bed and a crew cab would make me say "take my money!!!" - but that doesn't seem to be in the cards. If I move to another truck, it kind of seems like I might be looking at the new Taco (again) - it sounds like they might have resolved some of the issues with the new 4G.

As to the 6G, if they made available a plug-in hybrid and a SuperCab, then it would be a maybe for me - but while I wouldn't mind a V6, I'd hesitate on the 2.7L because of its wet belt-driven oil pump. Oil-soaked belts aren't really the norm, and belt-driven oil pumps seem like a less-than-good idea to me. I watched a 2.7L get torn-down on Youtube...I was a little scared watching.
So, given that, if I were in the market, I'd still be looking at the 2.3L in the 6G. So, I think I'm happier with what I have....plus there's less than $6k on the note, so I might just pay this one off early and call it a day.

While I was working today I stopped at the old Ford Dealership that I worked at 4 years ago. While I was there a Ford Rep was there with a Lariat FX4 6G Ranger. In general it did look nice for the options it had, but there were things that I did not like.

Good things to note, the shocks have apparently been improved where the truck does not bounce all over from the tiniest cracks in the road. If it is a good thing the rear shocks are also on the outside of the chassis instead of the inside. Personally I could care less on that. For some that don't like the massive Rake of the 5G, the 6G does not have near as much.

Bad things to note, all trims come with a tailgate Damper...... Let's face it..... That cuts into Dave's Commission and we all know it......, regardless of trim the truck will have Sync 4 which means I giant ass infotainment center..... I myself hate the idea. Ford can easily make Sync 4 with a screen the size of the Sync 3 that is on the 5G. If you have a Lariat you will have the oh so fancy E shifter. If you have XL or XLT you get the same shifter as the 5G. Personally I prefer the standard shifter. The under seat storage on the Crew Cab has not changed one bit....... It also sounds like Ford has no intention to change it.................

Other things to note, the 6G still has a 7500 lb tow capacity for the Standard Ranger in both 2WD and 4WD. Raptor is 5500 lbs. The XLT and Lariat will have the 2.7 as an option. The truck is wider by 2 inches compared to the 5G. Overall the truck definitely has more refined lines compared to the 5G.

With all this said I hate to say it but I was not impressed much at all. I think there is just too much tech in the vehicle if you ask me. I understand that many manufacturers are going this way, but I personally would prefer to go back to Nissan since the new Frontier has a lot more simpler tech while still allowing one to store the essentials under the rear seat.
From what I've seen, you have two options, 10" or 12" screen, both giant ass screens.
2.7 V^ is not available in MY24, MAYBE MY25 or beyond.

It also wasn't a concern of mine. Why you ask? Because due to the length chances are it is a two piece like the 5G. Are the u-joints lined up correctly this time? Again don't know and don't give a shit
The u-joints are on as designed, and Ford isn't the only one that uses offset joints. Will it be better on 6G, who knows as no one has one yet, and dealers and reviewers aren't going to mention DS vibrations even if there is one.

XL starts at $32,565, XLT at $36,005. And there are 2 levels of XLT, standard and XLT High for $995 extra $.
Base XL has SYNC4 10", but also has 8" LCD Dash, same as XLT. Thing to consider is, are the additional options on XLT worth the extra $3440. To me, no. XL will fit my needs: I don't need Co-pilot 360 and the extra gadgets.
XL and XLT have manual AC, auto dual zone climate control available on XLT High and above.
I see heated seats on XLT High and Lariat, but no mention of heated steering on XLT, only on Lariat.

This is the link to build and price on 6G. There is already a disclaimer about 'high demand and supply chain issues."
