I am not bothering with the dealer run around for my cold first shit issue that will not go away no matter what because I know the dealer will just give me the run around, keep my truck, beat on it, f*uck up the programming, etc. and still not fix it, so I just hope it goes south completely before 100K.

There's absolutely no benefit in waiting to have it inspected. I get the dealer runaround...I do...I've been there. At the same time, you're enabling their poor customer service by just dealing with it and not speaking up. I thought the exact same thing and almost didn't say anything during my last service. However, I mentioned it....and to my shock, they found something on the first look and I'm currently waiting on parts for them to complete the "overhaul".

Besides, if it becomes a bigger issue later, I'd want it documented in my service history as soon as possible. Next time you get an oil change, ask the dealer if they have a transmission specialist. If they do, request that they inspect the transmission and that you've been having issues described in the recent TSB's. There's no secret that there are issues with these transmissions. Ford has acknowledged that much. If they don't have a specialist, ask them to have the tech take a look anyway, and make sure it's documented on your invoice and/or service history.

You might want to do it sooner than later. There will be more and more people with problems with each passing day. I'd try to get in line now while you're under warranty.

If you luck is like mine, it will blow 5K out of warranty. Not that I have transmission issues, yet.

From what I've found onine some time in 2022 (late) production of the 10R80 switched to a new/improved CDF drum design. It would be useful to find out if you have the previous design and the manufacture date of your truck.

The line is already long and they still haven't fixed it, so... I get it, but they can do without me.

2021 here with almost 21k miles. It randomly has started having some harsh/clunky downshifts when coming to a stop and occasionally has some really firm upshifts. Too random to be able to successfully show a tech and no codes pending or set yet.

I have noticed this on my '22, as well. Only 12,400 miles on it. But have been noticing it for at least the last 4,000 miles or so. I mentioned this to the dealer tech when I went in for my 10k oil change so they know I'm aware of all the problems these trannies have been having. It's not nearly undrivable or that annoying, though... yet. Will need to keep an eye on it. I have plenty of warranty left.

Issue isn't exclusive to the later years, mines a march built 2019, with a garbage 3/4 shift and occasional rough up/downshifts. 38k miles so far. Haven't had it in to the dealership because it's just inconsistent enough for me to believe the dealer won't be able to replicate the issue.

Plus many times they do not work. Ford has known about the defective CDF clutch drum that is causing 99% of the issues with the 10R80 and they still have not fixed it and still have not did a recall. I am not talking TSB, I am talking recall.
The issue is with the seal specifically on the CDF drum and that was rectified in late 2022 so any repairs now should get the fixed part. But yeah the fact they are just doing a TSB and not proactively fixing it is shady at best, hence the myriad of lawsuits.

Yeah it happens randomly from what I have seen, my 19 did it right around 65k miles. I would say do it sooner than later though, it takes a while to fix and there is really no indication as to when its going to grenade.
