Hello everyone, I inherited my wife's Ranger and I have done some upgrades. She has 75K on her and has lived a very easy life being driven by my wife most of the time. I have been doing some research in the forum and it looks like the 3 main options on tuners are Ford Performance (probably Livernois?), Livernois, and 5 Star tuning. I was originally leaning towards 5 Star, but have read some messages on here about issues. So I started to look at Livernois, but I do not really see much tuning options. I have done a few things to the truck and want a reliable tune with modest gains. Any suggestions from those with similar equipment. Thanks in advance,

2019 Ranger Lariat, CVF 3" CDP, MBRP 3" SS Exh, Mishimoto IC Hardpipes, CAI, and CCan, and VelossaTech Big Mouth RA, ReadyLift 3" SST and C Bars, KSP 1.5" WSP, 275 70 18 GY Wrangler.

I would say you need to research Unleashed. Torrie is excellent with these trucks and will tune it any way you like. I have very similar mods and Torrie has my truck running like a top

I did the Ford Performance and would do it again given the options. I felt like the Ford Tune keeps the parameters within safe levels while giving a great bang for the buck. I have always only used Super Unleaded fuel anyway so there was no real downside for me. The difference is pretty amazing and probably what Ford should have sold in the first place, it not only has more power but it also shifts better. It's a truck, so I'm not really into mashing the pedal but it's nice to know it can jump into traffic when needed.

I have ran both unleashed and 5 star performance tunes. I had unleashed first and ran it almost year. Tried 5 star performance tune and still running it to this day.

I found the livernois tunes to be pretty nice overall. Personally I went with the toe tune from them because it did increase power to a safe limit where you can still tow as needed without having to switch tunes and you can still run as low as 87 octane

I have been running Livernois for 50k miles and have no complaints. I have seen nothing but positives about Unleashed as well. Choosing a tune is almost as nerve racking as choosing tires lol.

Just installed a 5 Star "87 performance" tune today. the only mods are a 3" downpipe and exhaust, running 87 E10 gas, and holy crap!! Pedal response and transmission shifts are fantastic, did a full throttle launch and chirped the tires through 3rd gear shifts. Now I need to load the 91 tune and tank full of 91 octane and see what it does.

The tunes really wake the truck up. Livernois tune will chirp the tires too.

Running LMS 91/93. Just got thru the hottest August on record in Texas. It didn't explode. So... there is that.

Best endorsement on the power difference was the first time my wife drove it after the tune. She walked back in and... direct quote:

"What in the f#%$ is wrong with you".

So... it makes a difference for sure. As much as my transmission still sort of sucks... after the tune it is far less dumb and absolute perfection when I get on it. When it up or down shifts under heavy throttle.. very nice.

Most people seem pretty happy with all the canned tune options out there. Roughly the same cost. They all seem to be pretty safe unless your luck is bad. Not to far off power wise I'd guess staying safe on 93 for daily driving.

If I was shopping again; I'd listen more to those who have run a few tune options vs goofy shits like me that have just experienced one.
