Ok I need to vent!!

Probably a first world problem, AND I am choosing to "modify" them so I get it, but I am really getting frustrated with Fords quality!! As most know, when I first got my truck, I got the tail lights tinted. While they were being tinted it was discovered the P/S tail light was cracked. So I ordered a new one, and same thing, unfortunately discovered AFTER tinting. So I decided to live with it for a while. Well because of the accident, insurance covered the tail light . The bodyshop has gotten 3 tail light now, all cracked (before tinting). and it's not just my Ranger, apparently a couple F-250's they recently did also had cracked tail light issues. I doubt is has anything to do with scuffing the light or anything, I have had multiple lights tintted and this has never been an issue. Now I have a feeling the bodyshop is not gonna want to tint the tail light if they can get one not cracked.

New parts?
Yes, new parts, truck has less than 3000 miles on it, no way I'm letting them put used stuff on. And now the hitch has to be replaced, not lining up. Guess the dude hit me harder than I realized lol. I'm just thankful the the bed and tailgate weren't touched.

Hit you so hard he's breaking future parts!
Either that or Ford is having an issue with a supplier they need to get sorted out.

Define cracked...

I get it, trust me.

Just wondering how bad the cracks are...

Cracked, adjective, damaged and showing lines on the surface from having split without coming apart :giggle:.

I'm sure there wouldn't be any water leaking issues as my current cracked light doesn't have it. but still.

Dang that's a good size crack. Very noticeable going across the light bar. Are all the cracks on the different units in the same place or different places?
Different places, some were on the face side.

Did you by chance get to see how they were packaged for shipping?

That is a very obvious crack when lit up like that...

Not with the current ones as the body shop has been dealing with it. The one I personally bought, it was packaged well. foam and bubble wrap. I looked on the new one after I opened the box, where the crack was on the old one, didn't see a crack, quickly looked over the rest of it like an idiot, and I didn't see the small crack that was on the face side.

You have tinted taillights, and were rear-ended? Guess the other drivers insurance isn't very good/thorough.

Eh, i mean you likely did impact their visibility. Is the other person a moron for not paying attention? of course. However, tinting taillights is certainly not legal and if they had noticed (or their insurance had) you'd likely have been partially or fully on the hook.

This is just one of those trends I don't personally get. Yours is not significant, but especially the blacked out taillights.

I haven't posted a picture of my ranger but it still has the deer damage on the passenger side bumper with the fog light destroyed. Good excuse for getting a better looking bumper especially if the 24 rangers front clip would fit onto my 19.
