I’ll take 87 octane for 20 gallons Alex
All day every day.
I notice the environmental, electric car driving warriors can’t be bothered to recycle their Amazon boxes or a beer can off the side of the road.

My neighbors son bought a battery powered f150!!
I noticed the other day when he stopped by to visit her.

There are many old bridges, especially in rural areas that are posted for 3 ton gross weight, not per axle weight. Could be a bummer for your Hummer if you live where you need to cross such a bridge to leave or get home.
As the article states, A roadway or bridge designed for forty or more tons will wear out more quickly with constant 5,000+ lb traffic.

Not for nothing but I don’t think i would cross that bridge on a bicycle. It looks really sketchy.

Last year I worked at a Ford dealership an every Lighting was sold before it hit the lot. I was at a different dealership last week an they had 3 sitting on the lot. I didn't bother looking at the price or if there was a mark up gimmick on them. Between the huge price increase an the reports of the real world range being lame I can see them sitting a while longer.

I really don't understand this massive push to electric vehicles we don't have the charging ability to support. I think plug in hybrids make more sense until the charging networks are available an I'd prefer a new technology for batteries that don't rely on the materials they use now.
Hybrids do make more sense, except my daughter just rec'd a recall on her Maverick over risk of fire when the truck is active. They told her it was not a problem in the garage, just when in operation!

Until this is resolved I'm staying away from all forms of EV/hybrids.

And I bet very few EV owners consider, or are cautioned by dealers to consider the increased weight of their cars at such times, or whether the concrete in Their garages and driveways will be adversely affected by the weight.
10-4. How many owners know what their vehicle weighs, or read the door jamb sticker, or even know there is such a thing?

Depends what you are comparing, and the weight differences aren't that drastic.
A Tesla 3 is about 3552 to 4072lbs.
An Ionic 5 is 4034 to 4662.
Ford Explorer is 4600.
Ford Lightning comes in about 6,500, about 1,000 more than the ICE F150.

If the concrete in your drive way or garage can't handle those weights, you got bad concrete.

Get out of here with your common sense.

They're trying to figure out more ways that EV's are bad, leave them be.

It is entertaining.

I wonder if this is the same conversations that were had when the ICE was put into cars.

I say Bezulbub, can you imagine having to stop at special locations to put liquid in that machine instead of just letting the horse eat any ol'random grass patch.

Probably did. And they definitely went on and on about the range of "them new-fangled horseless carriages" vs. good old Mr. Ed; he may not be as fast, but by golly, he'll get you there and more.

I have nothing against EVs per se, I just don't think they're a viable alternative yet, for the range that I need (a PHEV at best, right now); it's more the "holier-than-thou" attitude of the EV crowd that rubs me the wrong way. If I had the money to spend on a second vehicle, I might just get one for around-town driving, but my budget doesn't allow for a fleet.

Probably harder on paved driveways.

Imagine what a battery-powered tractor trailer weighs.
