Wow....

Someone will buy it lol
I sure hope not.
Sets a really bad precedent, in my opinion.
But what do I know, as I drive a lowly XLT ?

Sounds like at least one other person your dealer probably also placed in allocation spot 1 outbid your 5k ADM offer. Good for you for sticking to your price point. I had a somewhat similar issue a few months ago on a car I was shopping for. After the usual back and forth BS we could not meet on my trade in by 1k. As I walked away and thanked him for his time the dealer said, "I guess you are not motivated enough to make this deal today." I literally laughed and said, "You have that right."

I ended up making a deal for the car I wanted and the trade in I wanted with a dealer about 2 hours away. We did it all over the phone and text. I sent them pictures of my trade in and we worked out the details. They brought the car to me for the inspection and test drive. We did the paperwork in my living room. Then they took my trade in back and that was it. Best experience I've had buying and trading in a car. Sorry I know I'm a bit off topic here.

No telling, this could simply be them playing the usual attrition tactics common in dealerships hoping I will get to the point that I am tired of dealing with them and accept their counter-offer since "its only a few thousand more".

I suspect at some point tomorrow I will get a phone call with verbiage along the lines of, "I am trying, but they won't budge from $6,500". Rinse and repeat. Well hate it for them. If they attempt to penny pinch a bit further and get within a few hundred dollars of my set amount I may consider it a "douche bag tax" and pay it to wash my hands of the matter. We shall see.

YOURS...is hardly lowly now, good sir! It's practically a work of art.
Well I appreciate that. I am hoping a buyer will view it the same way when ask a normally stupid price for it. Well, that is Plan A at least. No I wont be listing it on here, the typical Ranger owner on here is not the type of buyer I am looking for.

This is an interesting thread and I'm living it right along with everyone else. I love the 6G Raptor but I have very strongly negative feelings toward all the other 6G Rangers. I also had such a pleasant experience buying my truck on X-Plan, I refuse to do it any other way at this point. I literally never met anyone from the dealership in person. I gave them my build via email, they submitted it, sent the paperwork and sent me the truck (2K under MSRP +$600 shipping to my island). The local dealers were marking up Tremors on the lot 17K ADM. If that means I'm stuck with a '22 Hot Pepper Red Lariat Tremor Ranger forever (that I love), that's cool. Painless. I guess if you need it now, you're stuck but I'm more than happy to wait and see what happens to those allocations in the future. I also imagine they'd laugh at you outright for asking about X-Plan on a raptor this year. Good luck, hopefully it works out in your favor. I don't fault anyone who is spending their own hard earned money the way they want.

Where’s 3.0 liter? 2.0 diesel and 3.0 petrol have significant price difference here.
Philippines limits engine choices. Our trucks are made in Thailand.

I wouldn't go through this trouble (and just keep my current truck) for anything other than the raptor specifically. There is no way to configure any other trim level to come close to the raptor.

Because Ford at any time can decide you know what we're not doing it this way anymore and if you want to be part of the new way of doing it then get on board. On the ladder Ford is the top rung. They more or less bare responsibility on some levels ranging from great to minuscule on everything that occurs on the rungs going down
I agree Ford has more control then they let on.
For instance - with the EV sale- any dealership that wants to play have to pay the price to Ford and meet what Ford demands. Same with the dealerships that sell Lincoln’s - Ford corporate wants you to upgrade your facilities and here’s the parameters - they do it or they don’t get to sell Lincoln’s.
So Ford is not that incompetent not be able to enforce their expectations - they just choose what they want to “enforce”

Jack.
I am living vicariously through this thread. It is frigging awesome!
Can’t wait for ch 3
I am doing pretty good so far just suppressing any hopes and expectations I could easily build up inside. That is how you screw up this stupid mindless game, letting a desire override business.

If I finally get a phone call that the stupid mindless game is over and to come put my deposit down I just want to it to be an unexpected surprise.

From the stands you definitely look like you got the upper hand. They may know you don’t but they sure are showing their cards more.

And yes -desire overriding business is bad.
I am thinking of that scene from ghost busters when Bill Murray and Harold Ramis is trying to negotiate the firehall pointing all the negatives to lower the price and then Dan Ackroyd comes sliding down the pole saying “this place is great” and blowing any kind of deal they could have got. ?
