I just built one online. Came out to 59,770 with the beadlock capable wheels, wheel lock kit, graphics package, and spray in bed-liner. I would pay MSRP for this. I need to get my new construction loan first in a few months, so I can watch how it goes for you guys and the dealers.

Meanwhile here in the Philippines I can go to the dealer and grab a Raptor for 43K. Now it has a 2.0 liter twin turbo diesel. But out the door no bs.
Its comments like this that can get you banned for life. Just sayin'. ?

This would be mine if I could order it at MSRP, but it’s not looking likely at this point.

Well my ego wants a v6 twin turbo. Point me to another ranger with that engine I am all ears.
You could buy a stock Ranger and put a crate Coyote in it for less than the Raptor and ADM slapped on. Now you got bragging rights!

Chapter Two: " The Phone Call "

I awakened at my usual time, around 1400 hours eastern standard time. It was a less then pleasant experience the past two days on duty, the highlight being a dude with no legs being accosted in a park at 0100 hours in the morning by a girl he met on Facebook. He sort of had a lisp like Mike Tyson.

I lift one leg and butt cheek, release the build up of pressure from my slumber, stretch and glance over at the night stand. My piece of shit Sonim XP8 phone has a blinking green light on top. A quick tap and I see its Mr. OM and he has left me a voicemail to give him a ring.

I had expected them to make me stew (in their mind) for multiple days, cause you know, walking from one office to another to ask a simple question like, "He will only pay this, yes or no?" for dealership employees might as well be like an adventure trek up Mount Saint Helens that requires days of preparation. I let the dogs out and go sit down in my office and dial Lord Ford back.

"Hey I just wanted to check, are you sure you can't do $7,500?" I'm not even going to count flags anymore, they are springing up like holes in a hose at this point. I'm pretty sure he could feel the cosmic force of my eye roll. I wouldn't be surprised if I ever see him again he will have a bright red slap mark on one cheek where my phantom eyeballs crashed into his face.

"No Sir"

A small pause and he responds, "Ah ok I just wanted to check. I know I need to order this soon since we, you know, only get the 1 allocation."

I am sure by attempting to pull the appeal to urgency card on me he wanted this:

Unfortunately for him what he got was:

"Sure I understand," I reply knowing what I understand is he is wasting is his breath and mine, but whatever. Tonight for dinner are some spicy salmon burgers so I am already in a good mood.

He thanks me for my time and says he will be in contact with me soon.

I imagine he is donning his battle gear as he prepares for another 48 hour trek from his office to the GM's office through the harsh environment of sterile white floors and air conditioning. I don't know, maybe the plot twist is the GM is not involved at all and this is all a master plot of the OM.

Sorry, that is the only update I have so far.

Yea I realized the graphics package wasn't worth it. Maybe on blue or red.

Because like it or not they still have the upper hand. If I more or less hurt their ego they could simply not sell me the truck. I'm the silly bastard that will burn the bridge after I cross it and get to my destination. (I will elaborate more on this down the road if the sale occurs).

Did I mention my father, God rest his soul, was a former marine, police officer, and...

...car sales man for 15+ years.

Any way for you to run counter-intelligence and find out how many people they are having this conversation with?

Would not be relevant to me, either I get it at the price I am willing to pay or I don't.

That is the only upper hand I hold over them, I don't care one way or the other if I get this truck. If they want to play secret santa will the allocation is no concern of mine.

Where’s 3.0 liter? 2.0 diesel and 3.0 petrol have significant price difference here.

I sure can but I won't, would have been my answer.

That would be counter-productive. No reason to create obvious animosity. It would serve me zero advantage.

The same reason I answered "No Sir" and not "No" - its called verbal judo.
