Been reading up on threads about the truck jerking/shuddering at low speeds. My 2020 has more so than ever began shuddering/jerking when coasting and taking my foot off the pedal anywhere between 20-35 miles per hour. Or, if I accelerate from a stop and then back off the pedal, I can feel it. Not sure if this is the recall mentioned here but curious if this is unique to me and if not, what service has been performed and worked? My warranty ends in July so I’d like to get it fixed before then. Problem is it’s hard to replicate the problem unless you take a decent drive and I’m not so sure someone could tell unless it’s your own daily driver. Thoughts? And thanks. Ranger 2020XLT with 26k.

You should re-read the bucking-surging epidemic thread. The answer is in there. Many have replaced the EGR DPFE differential pressure transducer (sensor) and eliminated that problem. It is not very expensive, and many have replaced the part themselves.

Suffered from this for a long time...just recently replaced the DPFE sensor and everything's all good...the best day/night repair and not too tough DIY...

Thanks for this - could you share with me what you did and/or a thread here highlighting it?

Thanks for sharing. But is there a procedure you could share or is there a video? If I can DIY it that’d be awesome…because right now it’s boderline un-drivable at slow/city speeds

I feel for you...you have two choice...DIY as I've described in the link or have your dealership replace this part...

So is the $12 part the way to go here? Assuming you need to take the whole assembly out to replace the sensor?

Is there any insight into why these sensors are failing? Truck is three years old, low mileage. Is this replacement part going to need to be “replaced” again in three years or are these just faulty?

If you can remove the assembly and replace just the sensor and DIY clamps for the hoses...providing the hoses are in good condition...

Please refer to the associated link...as I've explained this process a hundred times there...

couldn’t one just dremmel off the clamps and use zip ties to fasten them to the new sensor? $12 v$80 for one with hoses sounds like a no brainer. Hoses on mine seem to be fine…or am I missing something as to why I need new ones?

Wow that part has doubled in price since I bought one last July. I wanted to have one on hand because it seems like it's inevitable it's going to fail and only paid $43.39 shipped for mine.

Wasn’t aware there’s a cheaper one without hoses. I’m glad i bought a few last year for $36.00 each.

Yes, you can...I ordered both believing they were different items...after installing the assembly, I disassembled the old set and replaced the bad sensor so now I have a spare assembly for the next 100,000 mile failure lol...if I can find it by then...
