I've been needing a good floor jack for awhile now so when I saw a Harbor Freight store on the way home today I picked up a couple items. My prior F-150 FX4 , the new Ranger FX4 and with the Bronco coming in , I really needed something other than my old AC Delco floor jack to lift the tall stuff safely. I already had their vacuum oil extractor for several years now and it has been great. I loaned it to a friend and he has been using it on his car , trucks and skid steer and had said that he was going to buy one also. I just picked up a new one today and stopped by to tell him that he could just have my old one. He's been a great friend over the years and we don't keep up with who is ahead giving each other stuff, lol.

I also picked up the last Badland Off-road jack they had in stock and let me tell ya, this thing is sweet. Built like a tank and rolls over anything. I had to wheel it through the gravel and tall weeds out back just to try it out. It has a solid skid plate underside so it will not bog down in sand or mud and with just a few pumps it had already lifted the Ranger off the floor and was taller than my old jack at its highest :) The price is right too. I just watched a few YouTube reviews on it and it appears I made a good choice. It seems to be getting nothing but praise from the off road community. Just thought I'd share if anyone is in the market for a good jack and the oil extractor has my seal of approval also. I've used that model for a good many oil changes over the years and my friend will probably wear it out with all the vehicles he has.

Interesting indeed. Only thing is if going Off-road with it you need to make sure that it has a good place to stay put and hope that when you need it, it can get under the vehicle. The last thing we all need is a situation where we can jack the vehicle up as needed.

This will be a around the house jack for me . The fact that it rolls easily is a plus . I use the farm jack for off-road excursions.

I don't have a problem buying from Harbor Freight. But after their jackstand debacle I doubt I'd ever buy anything jack related from them.

Nice Badland jack.

Which points on your Ranger do you lift from with the farm jack ?
I haven't off roaded the Ranger. It was an interim purchase waiting for my Bronco order to be built and I did not want to risk damage for trade in. We have about decided to keep it anyway but still will never carry it off road. The farm jack worked great on the Jeep so I figure it will on the Bronco as well. I haven't actually researched what Bronco owners are using off road though. Now I guess I'll spend some time looking that up,lol.

Then don't buy from Summit Racing
Summit Racing 3-Ton Jack Stands recalled (consumeraffairs.com)

or Wal-Mart
Walmart Recalls Jack Stands for Risk of Injury and Death (dailyhornet.com)

.....or do as I have always and never buy a ratcheting type jackstand at all. I've never trusted them.

I think Craftsman had a recall as well back in the late 80's

Didn't know summit made stands, probably wouldn't consider their house brand if I did. And wouldn't shop for stands at Walmart.

I just feel there's a time and a place to save money. And safety equipment is not it in my opinion.

Pretty awesome looking jack, great that it has onboard secure storage for the extension saddle and the Allen wrench. I think it's a little too big and heavy to make my regular off-road kit though.... And almost $600 in Canada, YIKES!

that off road jack is pretty sweet. What does it weigh ? can you get it in and out of the truck with one person easily?
