Still working through so apologies for multiple replies, but on my last car I had a senile old lady smack my car in a parking lot at my marina. i was out on the water, no cars around me. I come back to load something in the car and there is a scrape down the side of my car and one car parked right next to me. I walked the dock asking if anyone had that car, etc. and no one fessed up.Thanks! Sorry to hear about yours too. When I first got out of the truck the lady that hit me keys saying "I'm sorry, I didn't see you". It wasn't until her loser daughter and SIL took her inside and the daughter came out accusing me. At the time I think that upset me more because it was so obvious by the damage but it's done and over with and life goes on. ?

Found them walking to the car half an hour later. It was an old lady, who was in a rental with her husband. They were fine (and I was not being aggressive), but insistent that she did not my car, and that it must have been pre-existing. I took out a tape measure and measured the height of the matching scrape on her car. The daughter and junkie son walk over, start getting incredibly defensive, screaming, etc. I just called the cops.
My favorite part? She had a rental because she had hit the garage with her car backing out and it was at the shop. She also told me, repeatedly, that her car with matching damage came that way from the shop and to check with them. I did check with them, they had no record of damage so in addition to eventually cutting me a check (rather than dealing with insurance), the rental place probably charged them for repairs.
