Sounds like spring tension within the pedal assembly - for such a important part - I would replace it - you can possibly open it up and lube (lightly) but it that pedal sticks - you have zero control of Speed other than shut truck off - this is one thing about new vehicles I hate - wire control vs the cable - and zero redundancy as a backup

thanks for the reply, what is the grinding sound if its just the electrical pedal assembly, i was thinking the worse being the transmission.

If it is coming from the pedal Assy - it still has a spring to return the pedal to normal position
The old school cable used the return spring on the throttle body
Now if is coming from under the floor - might be a bushing -as the transfer case is flexing - but the sound in the video is pretty close to a spring to plastic sound

that seems very strange. mine does not do that. So silly question but have you looked around the pedal and under to see if something is making contact with the pedal or assembly under the dash ? i doubt its anything under the hood as most newer cars are electronic go pedal instead of a wire pull. I wonder if it is something underneath the truck, that vibrates while underway and you feel it in the pedal. if it vibrates in time with speed or rpm, drive shaft etc. that would be a good indication of where to search. if the frequency does not change with speed or rpm maybe something exhaust wise

it seems to happen when i just barely press the pedal at 20 to 30mph

what gear are you in when this happens? it may be the transmission being in a higher gear and the engine is "lugging". pretty much all of the 5g rangers do it sadly. the 10r80 is kind of a 50 / 50. you either have no issues or you hate the things . you can guess which camp im in.

i mean honestly i can get it to do it even when going 50 mph, it just depends on how much i push the pedal down.

I’ve had these exact same issues since new. It only happens in that 20-30 mph or 50-60 mph range. Mine feels more like a vibration of the whole truck, either slowing down or speeding up gets it out of it. Haven’t asked the dealer about yet. I just assumed they would say it’s characteristic of the Ranger.

I’d have to test it by having a microphone closer to the floor board but yours sounds like more of grinding, at least for me it seems to be some sort of vibration
