Well the day has finally arrived that after tomorrow’s 1 hour ahead it will be the last clock change we will be making. After a lifetime of doing this the tradition ends and forever more we stay the same time year round.

So glad we're normal here and don't have to do this. I don't miss doing this at all!

Bad news you're going to have to do it again come November. The bill never passed and will have to be reintroduced this year.

The U.S. Senate unanimously approved the Sunshine Protection Act, introduced by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), in March 2022, but it didn’t become law.

The legislation would have made daylight saving time the new, permanent standard time throughout the country starting on Nov. 5, 2023. That means we wouldn’t change our clocks, or “fall back,” in November and would have a full year of daylight saving time instead of only eight months.
A matching bill was introduced in the U.S. House, but it didn’t pass or make it to a vote before the 117th Congress officially ended on Jan. 3, 2023.

That means the legislation needs to be reintroduced during the current Congress in 2023.

Bunch of useless morons in DC! But we can invest ALL our time in the Jan 6th shenanigans instead of doing something that is helping us all. Just another reason to push them out the door.

Honestly if your inviting Filipinos for dinner at 6, you tell them 5. ?
Sounds like most contractors here. If they tell you they'll be there by 8 expect them by 10. That's if they show up at all. :(

Your neighbours here north of the 49th parallel has been hankering to stop DL savings as well (well maybe not everyone) But much like your politicians, ours keep debating but nothing happens - it seems so simple. Makes you wonder how the heck the world has averted nuclear war which is way more complicated than ending DL savings time. ?

Heh, I always get a kick out of this yearly debate!
I mean, everyone knows that messing with clocks has no effect on how much daylight there is, right?
You want to see more daylight, get up earlier or go to bed later ... whatever.
Such a problem, we need our lawmakers to spend time to make a new law?

I was never really affected by the changing of the clocks, I might go as far as to say I don't mind the change.
But, if it was up to me, I prefer later sunset times in the summer...
I hate it for commuting to work. Come Fall time, I see so many people dealing with sun in their eyes, slow downs, accidents...then the sun is no longer in the position to cause issues. But the the clocks change and I have to deal with it again.

And the Spring comes and I have to deal with it all over again.
