I've had a lot of EV videos popping up on my Youtube channel lately and this one from Lucid the most recent. Now this is a very impressive EV and one I could see owning. That is if I had an extra $180K laying around. lol The center Pilot screen is cool in how you tough a button and it disappears into the dash and there's a cubby below it.

2.6 sec from 0-60, 1050 HP and an average range of 446 miles and up to 516 with 19" tires. It can also charge up to 300 miles in 22 minutes.

If you want to dive deep into the motor this is a very good explanation of how it works from the CEO.

It would be fun to test drive one. Can't afford one unless I won the lottery!

I can buy a lot of gas for 180k...
True but if you're rich and are looking at something higher end these are pretty nice for an EV. The HP/TQ are crazy while still getting good range. It looks well thought out and you get a ton of crazy options for the money. The seats are sweet having all sorts of adjustments and messaging I'd never want to get out of it. lol

There's several other ICE vehicles I can think of too. But for an EV there isn't much out right now that I know of that has these kind of numbers. Hey give me break I'm trying my best here to have a positive EV thread. ? ?

I have no problem with owning a EV vehicle, but only when I can jump in it on a moments notice and go anywhere I want, or need, to go without refueling anxiety. Until then I’m not paying close attention. So, I’m not sure if I will own one in my lifetime or not. Maybe a hybrid.

Yes, yes, yes, yes.....
20 min charge for 300 miles(or km)?
Things are moving but the price is astronomical.
Good on you Dave, your finding EV stories which are slowly
showing that EVs will be able to compete with ICE.
It's going to be a long slog but it will happen.
Again, for some, an EV will never work but for your average
commuter that lives 10/20 miles from work & the price drops to 20/30k, EVs will take off.

You can get a Tesla Model S with 300+ miles range for $29,995 (after tax credit) now that Muski has dropped the price again. My wife's Prius cost more than that.

There is a whole lot going on with EVs, battery development and power generation as a whole, however it would be a full time job to counteract all of the anti EV misinformation, falsehoods, sensational youtube vids, misconceptions, conspiracy theories , suppressed fantasies about a night with Greta (well maybe not that one) .

But as some posters much wiser than I have succinctly stated " follow the money" to do that one 1st must understand what and where investments in clean energy and transportation are happening both in the US and around the globe. It's not chump change but rather hundreds of billions of $$$ . You don't get there by watching sensationalized misinformed youtube videos or fud thrown out there, but that is what many choose to rely on for their information.

Well time to get back to watching youtube vids of EVs burning, long lines at charging stations, battery packs failing right off the lot, grid collapses, EVs getting stranded at the south pole and bridges collapsing under the weight of these demonic machines.

But the Prius isn’t range limited, so in my book it should cost more.
