Agreed. Plus it's ONLY an FX2. ?Now how will people know you opted for the FX4 and just a 4X4? Bedside stickers take away from the aesthetic of the body lines.

That would really confuse people if it had FX4 on the said. Other would call you a poser. Clean look is better. Car makers slap the misaligned stickers on like some badge of honor (that buyers pay for of course).Agreed. Plus it's ONLY an FX2. ?
There is a thread here where someone used rivnuts and a thumbscrew instead of the plastic crap fasteners. I've been using long zip ties lately.Took it out for some "spirited driving", finally took some up to date pics of it.
Changed oil, Spent 15 minutes fiddling with those severely too damn long 10mm inner fender shield fasterns that constantly cross thread.
I like the set up, but I intend to swap them out for 1/2" lengths. With all the cost cutting ford does, You'd think unnecessarily long screws would be part of the list. There is a thread here where someone used rivnuts and a thumbscrew instead of the plastic crap fasteners. Did yours come with the screws or the plastic trim fasteners?I like the set up, but I intend to swap them out for 1/2" lengths. With all the cost cutting ford does, You'd think unnecessarily long screws would be part of the list.
3 aluminum fasteners for the top 3, then the standard pos plastic screw clip.Did yours come with the screws or the plastic trim fasteners?
In year models prior to yours, the fasteners were plastic trim fasteners. They break really easy and can be an issue removing when they don't unscrew right. That and the fact that the dealership oil change did not replace them is why I put in long zip ties. I wish mine have 10mm screws, but I'm not giving up my hood struts just for that.3 aluminum fasteners for the top 3, then the standard pos plastic screw clip.
Tye fasteners are about 2" long which is stupid.

I wouldn't mind using snap buttons. Might be a mod I do when the inner shield ever decides to rip apart on me.In year models prior to yours, the fasteners were plastic trim fasteners. that would be better. but worse. at the dealer service center. So she finally grew old enough to leave the nest, without telling you...so much like the typical kids these days !!!
I know...just trying to make a little levity so your separation won't be so bad.that would be better. but worse. at the dealer service center.
Easy to spot an FX4 - watch for the tell-tale bouncy castle ride. Now how will people know you opted for the FX4 and just a 4X4? Bedside stickers take away from the aesthetic of the body lines.
Uhh whatI know...just trying to make a little levity so your separation won't be so bad.
But, sometimes being away from a loved one results in a better bond between the two involved,
especially if the one who is away, comes back better than when she left.
Indeed, more bouncy than the more sophisticated Tremor suspension. I like how my Tremor rides.Easy to spot an FX4 - watch for the tell-tale bouncy castle ride.![]()
