Just another incredibly super average dude
Replaced, (didn't trade), but eventually sold an '04 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Orvis Edish, w/ the HO v8. (To date, one of the best vehicles we've ever owned)..

2010 Escape. I loved it, and it served us well, but it was time to let it retire. The engine had reached the end of its life, and I was starting to have concerns about it dying for good in the middle of the highway. I always thought that the Escape2G had the best look, and it definitely had more cargo capacity than the others; there's no way I could have fit all of the stuff I fit into that one into the current generation. It's the same reason I opted not to go with the Bronco Sport; not enough trunk space. I'd consider them for a second vehicle, primarily as an around-town/short-trip vehicle.

Yeah, we had a couple older Escapes and before that, Bronco II's, and I can't help thinking they could have been made into a 60's retro-Bronco, since they are scarcer than hen's teeth and bring a fortune if restored! Cut out the wheel wells, lift it (somehow), 33's, install an Ecoboost, hmmmm...."nothing is impossible for the man who doesn't have to do it himself"...

Welcome RangerTim...sounds better than Taco Tim!
I found trying out the Tacos they were tight in the seat, and the feet, and didn't understand why so popular. Was it just me, or do you find the Ranger roomier too?

The seat is lower and mine wasn't height adjustable. It had a legs out more like a car position than a truck feel to it. Camry on a truck frame feel. The seats themselves were not bad, but as soon as I sat in the Ranger there was a noticeable difference. Tacoma had original seats so 130K miles could have had something to do with it.

The rear seat area was a lot more usable in the Tacoma. I kept plenty of emergency equipment behind and under the rear seat that I can't in the Ranger. The rear seat also folded down flat making a deck space, which was great for a dog. The rear seat storage is where the Ranger is differently lacking.

MPG was terrible. Engine sounded like I was flooring it when I took of from a stop, but that's due to transmission lacking gears.

Part of the reason Tacomas are popular is the perception of reliability. Tacomas retain a high resale value, which is another draw for some people.

Like your blue Tremor...I want a Tremor, if only to change the bed decal "M" to a "V"...

My purchased new 2014 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 Latitude.

Was loaded -3.2L V6, 4x4, Cold Weather Package, Remote Start, Navigation, Tow Package, Active Drive II, Sunroof, Push Button Start, Convenience Package. $34,960

Roughly 95k miles over ~9+ yrs. Been a good vehicle. Not many issues. Did just do the oil filter/cooler housing [plastic] repair that is very common with Penstar 3.2 and 3.6L V6s. Probably averaged 22-24mpg over life of vehicle.

Lots of problems with the 4wd system seem to crop up as the mileage builds on them. PTO (transfer case kinda) is a common known and expensive fix.

Have always been a GM guy and this will be my first Ford.

I could tell you, but then I’d have to….
I didn’t let it go, but had to put my ‘21 2 door Bronco Badlands into long term storage when I took this assignment. It’s waiting for me in the States when I return.

in the meantime picked up a Gen 6 Ranger WildTrak out here for exploring, 4 wheeling, and road trips. Have been absolutely amazed by the combination of comfort, capability, economy, and performance! Great little truck and, depending on towing capacity and final design may end up getting one when I get home since I can’t take this one with me.

You'll want to move the tires around a bit too, so that they're not always sitting on the same segment. It's a sacrifice, but that's what friends are for, right?
