Will do. Yeah I normally remote start my truck to let it warm up for 10 minutes of so in the mornings. I noticed this recently when hopping in and taking off after a few seconds. I’m still a new Ranger owner at 5000 miles. Bought the truck with 1700 on it.Just got back from a drive after reading this. Most probably the fan you are hearing. It quiets down after 3rd. And the fan queits down after a few minutes.
Now my transmission does shift a little funky until it warms up after a minute or 2, so I usually start it and let it run for a minute before backing out of the drive. It's gotten better since miles have been added on.
I kind of enjoy crawling slowly through the neighborhood with the fan loudly reving.
A good test is to jump in start it up and sit inside for a minute and listen to the fan until it quiets down then start your trip. See if you hear the same and it shifts the same.
