Hi Susan,

4G Ranger owner...I was Vehicle Engineering for the birth of 4G until 2002. Largely unchanged except for Regulatory or supply issues until its demise in 2011, by that time I was long gone but the heritage of Ford Tough continued until production was halted in 2011. That heritage continues with the 5G Ranger....

Fair enough. 5th gen order banks are closed, but you can still get new ones at dealers for a little while yet. Take a look at the 6th gen and see how you like its looks, as the 5th and 6th are dramatically differently styled. From the wild speculation on the internet, most of the main functionality between generations will be the same, however the interior of the 6th gen has much more tech, and has been updated quite a bit. I like the lower tech, more classic looks of the 5th gen, but that may put me in the minority of consumers, (though probably not here as this is the 5g forum). As always, everyone will give their opinions, and valuable things aren’t often just given away. (Mine included)

If you plan to pick up any new current generation Ranger, which is either new on the lot or previously enjoyed, here is the 2021 sales brochure. For the 2022-23 model years, Ford elected to do away with brochures. There were a few changes, but mostly downgraded tech package options. Lower cost to the buyer, and saved on precious components.
